New 2008 MCS owner in the Portland, OR area
Hey all. After very little debate, my wife and I decided to trade in our Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 for our 2008 Cooper S. Not only will we save money in our monthly payment, but in gas, insurance, etc. Don't tell my wife, but all the money saved is going toward mods.
Looks to be tons of info and helpful people here. I look forward to joining the Mini family. Here's our new ride (maybe it used to be someone's on here?):

Yep, that is a beauty, and quite a difference from the F-150!
Money for mods is a beautiful thing. Check out Way Motor Works...you'll be glad you did!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Yeah, this fits us much better than the F-150. Oh, did I mention it was a SuperCrew 4x4 and we were using it to commute 40 miles each way? At an average of 17mpg, that wasn't making much sense.
Way Motor Works looks like a fun place. Thanks for that link LadyGodiva.
Was planning on joining PDXMini.org, looks like some fun drives and get-togethers. Are you a member RJKimbell?
Looking forward to putting some miles on my new funwagon and meeting some cool people.

Welcome to the family! Back in 2008 I sold my '06 F-150 Supercrew FX4 for my first MINI too. I loved the ride and utility of my truck but quickly found out how little I really used it. (I still miss it when time to go pick out a Christmas tree.) We now have two MCS in the garage because though MINI owners are great people...we don't share our MINI's very well. Enjoy!!!!

Doh! Didn't even think about the Christmas tree. Guess I'll just have to figure out how to strap it to my other gas guzzler (Ford Expedition). Good thing I have some time to think about it. I'm already starting to understand about your point of not sharing very well. My wife is already talking about getting a convertible MINI S of her own at some point in the future because she likes "mine" so much.
