Shattered Passenger Window

Shattered Passenger Window
My car was parked in the garage all night and this morning, I went to drive it and found the passenger side window shattered. It is bowed out from the inside (concave inside, convex outside). There is no evidence of impact, inside or out. makes no sense! Called the dealer and they said something must have hit it - I don't think so!
Anyone else experience this?

I've had that happen, twice, to a side window of a London taxi I used to have, it was flat glass. But it was outside and they were really hot days. The window was binding in the frame and the hot weather made the bind worse causing the tempered glass to shatter. The third window I had made 1/16th of an inch smaller and that solved the problem.
I didn't see a hole in your window, I don't think anything hit it, it looks like it was pushed out fron the inside. Has your car been in an accident on that side and repaired? That could tweak the window frame enough to cause the window to shatter

these windows do come out of adjustment all the time. Ive had mine at the dealer for the window bumping and comming back down when raised. At this moment the same passenger window appears to open like 1" too much when it dips...
Basically if the opposite happened, it could be closing much too tightly to the frame, and I would guess we might see the above.
Im pretty certain mine gets messed up when I lower the windows with the key fob for some odd reason

Dealers and MiniUSA Customer Service not helpful
So basically, neither of the local dealers nor MiniUSA customer service seem to think this could be the result of a manufacturing defect. But there is no other explanation. It was fine one day, then shattered the next. It has not been nearly as hot as it normally is in Tx this time of year so I don't think it was a heat thing. MiniUSA said to get it to the dealer and let them inspect it but also went so far as to say that if they deem any outside forces (including tint!!) to be involved, it will not be covered. The tint was put on when it was brand new over a year ago! And if not for the tint now, the glass would probably be all over the garage floor (yes, it is a single car residential garage, not a parking garage). I just don't even know what to say...I have a bad feeling about this and its going to be a big downer if Mini doesn't deal with this appropriately. I love my car, but this is a freak thing and they need to own it! Thanks for all your support - I'll keep you posted.

Yep, here's the thread. Was the rear window, though.

Ok, here's the update...and it's GOOD!! Mike Benacci at the Austin, tx mini service dept ROCKS! Also Spencer who answered my call on the toll free mini roadside assistance #. Mini is covering the glass under warranty. Ironically, the window stayed intact all the way across town on the flatbed. When it arrived, Mike said it we the craziest thing he'd yet seen, basically agreeing that there was no impact point - just appeared to have spontaneously shattered. Now we're just waitng for the glass to arrive. I can't wait to get my little friend back!! Driving the SUV is just no fun a all!!
