Shopping for a Mini
Hello All!
My name is Chaney. I live in Hawaii and am thinking of purchasing a Mini Cooper S. There was a time (less than a year ago) that I wouldn't even consider the possibility of even riding in a Mini not to mention purchasing one. However, now that I am 115 pounds lighter and can easily fit into my Mother in Laws Z4, a Mini is no longer as Mini as I once thought. I drove two for the first time yesterday and was impressed with the handling and performance. Oh, I also climbed into the back seat and didn't need the jaws of life to get me back out. I will be purchasing used so any info on what to look out for in a used Mini would be greatly appreciated. I know I want an S model and I'm leaning towards a Turbo rather than a Supercharged version but other than that, I'm not sure what I should look out for. Any and all opinions of both versions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Chaney

First of all CONGRATS on the personal accomplishment...that's amazing and I think a MINI is just the reward you need!!! My advice would be to get a Carfax report, the more service records and receipts that are made available the better for you. As far as price I'd suggest www.kbb.com when you find something you like, take down the options and go to kelly blue book and look up the current values. The marketplace forum on here, e-bay, and craigslist are also good for comp. shopping. Good luck and keep us posted...
