Proud new owner from NW Kansas!
We bought our 1st mini, a 2006 MCS this week! We love it so much we would bring it in the house if it would fit through the door! It's a chili red w/white roof & white stripes down the bonnet. Fed Ex will be bringing checkered mirror covers tomorrow. Something tells me the fun is only beginning. Can't wait to take it on a road trip. If there are any other mini owners near us, we would love to hear from you. The mini seems pretty rare in this part of the state. We love this web-site too & couldn't wait to join!

Congratulations...I remember the day I brought Baxter home...I didn't know how to drive a manual and so my mom drove it home for me and I sat in the car forever and then that night I taught myself how to drive him. When I first got Baxter I can't say I ever noticed a MINI but now there all over the DMV (DC, MD, VA) and while there have been some bumps in the road I love my MINI and this site too (been so helpful the last few weeks)...HAPPY MOTORING...brace yourself for all the stares, pointing, and random people stopping to compliment your car and ask how much you like it!!!

Welcome from Boulder, Colorado! I originally hail from NE Colorado, so we're neighbors in a way (disregarding the time factor ).
In addition to MINI of Loveland, Ralph Schomp is located in Littleton. I'm a Schomper--that's where I got my '09 MCS and where I continue to take my car for its little checkups. Just another suggestion.

The extended warranty won't cover any regular maintenance items or the supercharger. I would suggest passing on this expensive option and put your money in the factory recommended maintenance. You most likely won't have any epic failures. Just keep the maintenace schedule up (every 30K) and change the oil with the best synthetic available. MINIs come from the factory with 10-30 synthetic and you should stick with it. Also, I change my oil every 10K, rather than following the ECU readout that would have you change it about every 15-18K. Also, don't forget to top your oil level every 2-3K. The MINI S/JCW engines use a bit of oil. This is normal for a high-compression engine.

We are 75 miles from Plainville,Ks & 60 miles from McCook,Nb. I looked for punk-mini in the NAM members list & couldn't find it.Have they posted lately? We get up to McCook sometimes & we have also saw a couple of real sharp minis there with local tags. If you go to K.C. or Denver they are everywhere!

By the way Just4kix, MINI is sponsoring a national rally that meets in Denver on August 13th. The official route goes through Kansas City and then on to Dodge City before ending in Denver for fun by all. You might consider joining us. Here's the details from MINI: http://www.miniusa.com/play-mini-tak...oring/states-m

We are going to name the car eventually......but my spouse and I cannot seem to agree on what gender it is! He wants to name it a macho guy name & I want to name it a cute female name. As you might expect we had trouble naming our kids & all our pets too! We will settle on something someday.
