Almost pulled the Trigger on a 2010 MCSa

Hello, everyone. I'm a newbie to this site and I hope to get more deeply involved with posting and events once I actually get my MCS.

I was going to take advantage of the August financing/bonus incentives and purchase a 2010 MCSa but then I discovered this site and read about all the HPFP and cold start issues (with the 2010 MCS in particular) and got cold feet.

I had a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T that had a lot of issues within the first year of ownership and I got rid of it in a hurry.

Are there any 2010 MCS owners here that (knock on wood) haven't had major issues with the fuel pump or cold starts?

Welcome to NAM!

I think you have misread a bit... the 2010s have been relatively free of those issues, I believe. It's older 2nd Gen MCS that have those issues sometimes.

Jump right in to the 2010 MCS... the water's fine!

2010 MCSa here for 10 months now, not a single issue that would cause concern.

It would appear that the S models built since this spring have an issue with warm restarts.

Thanks for the link, hsautocrosser. It's those warm restarts that freak me out a little. I guess like any car brand (some more than others) there's a bit of luck involved. ian3 and 10Zero, i'm glad to hear that your MCS's are running fine. I'm going to the local dealership tomorrow to take another look. We'll see what happens.

The problems were mainly with the '07 and '08 S models, 2010's are fine.

My 2010 MCSC has been fantastic (however, I drive a manual). It's been an absolute pleasure to drive, but go with your gut. Just make sure you choose a MINI no matter what year you go with, you won't be disappointed.
