I've wanted a Mini for years and a week ago found an 04 MC40 with the JCW package and just fell in love. Will be doing a PPI and if everything checks out, a Mini will be parked in my garage! I'm stoked!!

Anything I should be looking for? I'll start by reading as much as I can here. Can't wait!!

 

Sounds good, always liked the MC40 and the JCW kit even better. Does it have the CAI and 380 injectors?

 

I don't know I'm a total newbie when it comes to these cars. It does have the JCW air box, which I didn't open. And I have no clue on the injectors. Can you tell the size by the color? Did the JCW package had more than one option? These are things I'm definitely going to look for before I buy it. Thanks!

Check the control arm bushings they wear out.

Motor mounts leak

Thermostats leak

Also check oil pan gasket for leaks, that's a costly repair.

How did PPI go?

 

It went well enough that now I have an 04 MCS MC40 #555 at home! Already love the car. First thing I'll be doing is installing IE fixed camber plates and maybe a CAI (it does not have the JCW CAI). I have lots to learn so I'll spend the next couple of days reading the posts here.

 

So if it does not have the JCW intake then likely not have the 380 injectors. Check out the JCW forum here on NAM too.
