new mini in pa.
just picked up a 03 s. with 38k. in great shape. looks to have a cai and a catch can. any thing else i should look for? and are there any known issues with these 2 items. sometimes a cai can lean out the car with out a tune and a catch can does just that but not sure if it's hooked up correctly. thanks in advance.

Welcome and congrats! I've heard from a local MINI shop that they tend to not want to put OCC's on the supercharged MINIs because apparently the PCV gasses are used to lubricate the SC splines. I'm no car expert so please take that with a grain of salt. They said that the OCC's benefit the turbo MINIs more and they highly recommend them. Anyway, have fun with your new super-low mileage MINI!

Oh you don't even know, I live farther south (hour or so from Allentown) and the boroughs don't care 1 bit about the roads. Sometimes on PennDot owned roads there are pot holes as deep as your tire. It sucks knowing that every time I hit one of these my mini is slowly being destroyed.

I don't mean to threadjack this with more anti-pa road stuff but...
after driving back from Denver MTTS this week, I was sailing along, Indiana had some lane closures and construction on I-70 but then, after 16 hours of driving I came to Youngstown, OH and the PA I-80 start
'nuff said (miles and miles of lane closures on hills with lines and lines of semis jammed up)
oh and the NE EXT of the PA TPK is not much better
I gotta move to the midwest or west

Oh it's always nice hearing another wonderful MINI came to PA. Makes the few and strong ones we have around here have another buddy! I'm located in a little town (if you'd even call it that) named Danville, Pa. Also, the comments about the Pa roads sucking, you're all completely correct. They actually just tar and chipped the roads out by my house. :[ I'm so mad!

Oh the great Knobles. Lol. I just hate the tar and chipped roads because they're ruining my paint! And I go 5-10 mph over them! It's terrible. :(

i'm in south east pa, near philly. the roads suck state wide for sure. i'll never understand why they tar and chip the roads. all it does is fling tar and chips all over the side of my car. what a waste. i have noticed lately though a lot of repaving of roads and tree trimming. only 10 years over due but il'l take it.
