Hi, New MCS owner... (brand new 2010)
Hi there Mini Folks.
I just bought my wife a brand New 2010 Chili Red Copper S as a daily driver to replace her 2004 Nissan Xterra. We picked the S up yesterday and unfortunately due to an assembly issue after 9 miles of ownership it had to be towed back to the dealer.. We aren't discouraged, and can't wait to pick it up on Wed, HOPEFULLY (i hope after what happened they extend the warranty)..
I am a lifelong MotorHead and have owned more cars then I can count (somewhere in the 50 range somewhere). I am pushing 30 years old and have been married for almost 10 years. I have a couple children so my automotive choices are now tailored to how many kids can fit, and what can fit in the trunk. Which means that my days of driving Z32's or anything with two seats are over.. I do still play around with RX7's which have made up 29 of the 50 odd cars I have owned.
My personal daily driver is a BMW 740i which I really enjoy, and due to it's age have had the opportunity to get to know mechanically. Nothing bad, stuff like brakes, coolant overhauls, and oil changes..
My project is a 1988 Rx7 Turbo 10th AE model (1 of 1500 ever built)
I have done major motor overhauls on Rx7s, Mustangs ect, and surprisingly since I began driving BMW automobiles (weaned my teeth on e36s) I have been fortunate enough to not have to turn wrenches to the extent I use to.
Anyways, I hope to be able to contribute to the forum, I will probably join a local Mini club, and when the warranty runs out I will be doing plenty of DIY writeups if they dont exist.
Well that's me in a nutshell.. Nice to meet you.

Congrats on the new ride...sorry for the troubles but happy to hear your positive attitude. So many people fall into the dramatic "victim" role when in reality all cars are machines, made by human beings, and every make & model has issues. Sucks that it's nine miles into ownership but I trust you will be taken care of...make sure of it. Good luck...keep us posted.
