Finally, my car shows up on the WW site as assigned to the Independence II. Thought from the schedule that this would be the ship it gets on - good to see it show up on the WW Logistics search.
Loading on Friday (the ship is scheduled into Southampton in about 3 hours). Baltimore ETA on May 30.
Let's hope for some June incentives!!!

Under the section "Last Position Received" click on "Current Vessel's Track" and you will be taken to an interactive map that shows where it is, and all ths ships around it.
As I type this, it is docked at Southampton, loading up our MINIs!!
Cool note - if you go to the Southampton dock area, click over to Satellite view, and then zoom in there is a parking ramp on the north end of that dock that is clearly covered in MINIs waiting for delivery.
LAT/LONG of the ramp:
N050 degrees 53'15.89"
W001 degrees 23'43.97"

Minis backordered due to Japan issues?
It is May 2011 and I ordered my mini last week, no production number due to the fact that Japan is still having transportation issues for parts etc for the automatic transmission and nav system. What is the name of the company that makes the trans, so I can follow that instead of my mini production
How are you all liking the nav connect?

Very little seems to be up on their web site regarding supply issues. Probably something they work hard to keep low profile.

We just ordered our MCS today. I have a feeling it's going to be a very long wait for the Mini connected with Nav from Japan. Not really sure what to expect, but I'm thinking probably 6 months just to start production, maybe longer. Of course this is just speculation, does anyone have any idea how backed up the manufacturer of the connected systems in Japan is?

There is a great on-line site that tracks all of the ships. Independence II can be found at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...mmsi=367318000

Thanks for the info... we've been having fun watching the Independence II! It hasn't sent it's location in over 2 days, but should be pretty far out in the Atlantic by now. We loved the view of all the MINI's lined up at the dock. I wonder when that was taken? I read the the cars are usually at the VDC for 48 hrs. and then on a truck. When do you expect yours at your dealership?
Satellite photos can be rather old -- I know when I have looked at the ones in my area, sometimes construction project that are 2-4 years ago show up. I suspect there is some manual work aligning photos with roads, so they don't update them too frequently. But, no matter what year that was taken, the roof of a set of MINI's is unmistakable!
Mine is heading for Appleton Wisconsin. If it gets in to the VDC on May 30 (or I have seen them get in a day early in the past) - it should be out the door June 1-2. I don't know if they truck them, or put them on rail to get to someplace mid-point in the country. But I am figuring it will hit the dealer in the June 7-10 range. My pick-up will be a 5 hour drive each way, so I will need to line up a day off work or Saturday to run there and get it.

It looks like the Don Juan is the next one in on May 31, and then the Don Carlos on Jun 15.

From the current schedule, with your MINI done on the 17th, the first ship leaving Southampton that will deliver to Port Hueneme is departing May 25th and getting in June 15th - the Don Carlos. Based in my experience, you won't see your VIN pop up in the tracking system until the day it is loaded.
Google "Don Carlos Ship" and see if there is a marinetraffic.com link to allow you to watch it as it gets to Southampton.

Mine's aboard Independence II and about halfway through it's voyage, due to the Port of Baltimore on 30 May. What kind of turnaround and I looking at from making Port to getting to my dealer in Pittsburgh? Anybody venture an educated guess? Plus the salesman is claiming they'll need about week (???) after getting it on the lot before I can pick it up. This sound familiar to anyone else?

That is weird that it is coming in at that port. I would think it would go to Jersey City(nyc port). My last Mini came in at that port for delivery in West Chester, PA

Dealer time would depend on what options they are installing. If it is just clean and prep (mats, items requiring no install time) a day should be plenty. If they are doing stripes, graphics, clear bra, or installing JCW kits, it could take longer. Some dealers have specialists in only a few days a week. YMMV.
