I live in Wisconsin, and I was told mine is coming through Baltimore. So which ship will that be?
Once your car is finished production, you can start plugging the VIN into the cargo tracker at WW. Go to the first sticky in the 1st Gear forum here on NAM and you'll see the link for the WW shipping line. If after a week or so your VIN isn't coming up as confirmed on one of the ships contact your MA to see if it is listed on the dealers daily update. If it is put on one of the K-line ships then all you can do is get the ship name from your MA and then check the K-line schedule which is just a list of the ships and docking dates, you can't plug a VIN into their site to get more info, but if your MA gives you the name of the ship then you'll have the docking date.
Found the WW site, under customer centre scroll down to cargo tracking. You put your VIN in the 3rd box labeled Cargo ID. https://att.2wglobal.com/
You can find your VIN in the miniusa Owner's Lounge, look under Scheduled Maintenance.
Good luck,
Annette
My CM is at the Baltimore VDC. Been there since late Thursday/Early Friday. Anyone know how long it takes to make it through VDC and onto a truck?
Took mine about 5-6 days to get from arrival at the VDC to arrival at the dealer in Cleveland. Ideally it's 2-3 days AT the VDC, as long as there's no work that needs to be done.
looks like mine is still in production.. how do you find out where it is at in production?
Call ask mini and get a real person on the phone. Get them to tell you what stage they are at. The first few days are just getting the parts together...the real action hits on the last day or two when they put it together. Keep us posted?
I've been keeping close tabs on production by calling the ask-mini number and using the automated system. Was anxiously awaiting today, Mar 8, as that has been my scheduled completion date for the past several days. Just called, and current status is being transferred to the port of departure .
Still waiting to hear back from my MA on what port I'm coming into. I checked the shipping schedules for WW and K-Line, and if what I read was correct, then on WW, the next boat out of Southampton is not until March 14, and is only destined for Baltimore (3/23). Another departs on March 15 for stops in NY (3/24), Baltimore (3/26), and Brunswick (3/29). On K-Line, looks like one departs on March 11, and stops in Baltimore (3/21) and Brunswick (3/23).
Our mini is on a ship that is not on the WW schedule. We found out when we typed our VIN number (which is your cargo ID #) into their tracking page. That will tell you what ship your car is on, the estimated date of departure and arrival, and the port it will be delivered to. Every day our car was at the departure port, we just kept putting in the VIN number and finally it showed up booked. Hope this helps!
Do bonnet stripes get put on at the factory, VDC or dealer? We got the standard ones shown in the configurator when we placed our order.
I'm pretty sure you would have had to specify that when you placed the order. It's done at the VDC or dealer. Call your MA and ask how they're planning on doing it and see if you can have them do what you want. Good luck!
how easy are stripes to take off cause im getting free bonnet stripes but im gonna change them in the near future and i want ton know if i can just ake them off and have someone put on the new stripes or they have to be covered up?

When I was talking with my MA on day of my order he did tell me they are vinyl and can be removed if one doesn't like them. Hopefully that is accurate info for you. And they can always be added on in the future. The difference though would probably be the cost to have them with your order was probably like $100 or $125 (EDIT: or free as you had noted!) to have it done as part of production. If you went in after you had the car to have stripes added on I suspect the cost would be more.

I never talked to a person, just did the automated check by speaking in my production number. On Feb 25 my MA told me the car was scheduled for production. I didn't find this "support" group thread or the instructions on how to track your own MINI until after that. Whenever I started calling in the ASK-MINI number, probably around Monday or Wednesday and through Friday, it was "in production" and scheduled for completion March 8. On March 4 my MA told me it was in the Body Shop, though I did not get that on ASK-MINI. On March 5-6-7 I would get that it was in the Paint Shop, still scheduled for March 8 completion. On March 8, bright and early, U.S. time, it was updated to In Transit to the Shipping Dock, or something to that effect.
Now I'm just crossing my fingers it's destined for a port and shipping line that get's it here around March 23. That'd be my best case looking at shipping schedules. Still waiting to hear back on what my Port Loc will be.

They're vinyl stickers, so they're pretty easy to take off. Removing them (and using the cleaners necessary to get the sticker glue off if any gets left behind) CAN be harsh for your clearcoat though, so if you know you're going to remove them anyways - why bother to have them put on? You should see if you can get the all weather floormats or some other (equal or lesser value) dealer-installed option instead.
