2011-04-15 0630 UTC. That makes it 2011-04-14 2330 Pacific DT (UTC-7 hours). Oh this wait....too much analysis

I hear that. My Clubman S is on the Madame Butterfly and won't even be at the canal until the 24th. Since I can't track it I have been tracking the Undine

For those waiting: Panama Canal webcams (looks like the east side high rez one doesn't work well at night :-/) http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Looks like the Undine might have missed its original scheduled slot and is expected to start (or finish) traversing the canal at 06:30 UTC. Might be able to catch it on the webcam if you time it right .

Not to stray too far off-topic, but there is a fascinating article on the Panama Canal on Wikipedia. It was one of the most difficult engineering projects in history. The construction claimed about 27,500 worker's lives between 1880 and 1914. I had no idea...
The width of the locks limits the size of ship that can traverse the canal, with roll-on/roll-off carriers like our WW freighters being right at the upper size limit. There is a photo in the article showing one of the WW RORO ships in the locks.
New locks are under construction to allow much wider ships to transit; expected completion in 2015.

For those on the M/V COURAGE, it is anchored as of late last night/early this morning in Baltimore, next to the I-895 tunnel (a mere 30 minutes from my house). For those in the mid-Atlantic area, my MA told me to expect "no less than" a 3-day turnaround from the vessel unlading to when they receive the MINIs in Annapolis. I'm hoping that I can pick up my CM on Wednesday, as my MA is off on Thursdays. We'll see...

From what I can tell it takes 30-60 mins to get through the Atlantic locks and then the ship has to anchor for a bit (probably waiting a bit for its Pacific slot) before continuing. Not sure if she will have to anchor again before she goes through the Pacific locks.

I think so. Right now it is almost 8AM in Pacific time. And UTC time is almost 3PM. So I guess it gets to Port Huemene at midnight on April 23. So the car will be ready for processing first thing in the morning by the folks at VDC.

Also, this will be on my computer all day long. Hopefully I can get a screen grab when the time comes:

Good! It almost feels like we'll be gaining a day...if it came in the afternoon on the 23rd, that would have been lame.
