Interior Leather Touch Up

My "new to me" Mini Cooper has some light wear and tear on the left side of the drivers side seat. It appears it may be from the previous owner getting in and out of the car with a cell phone on his/her belt. Has anyone ever used a touch up product that my hide this?

Never tried it, but seen folks do the leather resto jobs on old 325is seats and came out great for 20 years plus on them. Let us know how it turns out. Pics?

My 02s with lapis blue leather had wear on the left side drivers seat that always annoyed me. it wasn't wear, the finish was GONE. but as it was wear and tear I did not expect MINI to cover it.

I went to a Micheal's craft store and bought a sharpie as close to the color I could find

and colored the wear spot.

did it about every 3 months for a few years

then sold the car

***********

my 07S has not developed the same wear spot btw . . .

tuscan leather there

If you go to a shoe repair store they will have cream polish in lots of colors. Get a few colors that are closest to your seat color and experiment with using them in combination to match the seat color. I did this to help hide the same wear on one of mine.

The shoe polish works. I have done this on my '02 MCS and my nieces '03 Tiburon. Work well, the wear is hardly noticable after applying the shoe polish. Lasts a couple months before you need to reapply. Make sure you rub it really weel with a soft cloth to remove any excess so you don't wear it on your cloths. I have tried markers but found the color match and overall finish of the shoe polish works better.

You can always get your seats reupholstered

I recently had the seats in my 2003 MC reupholstered in red leather (originally panther black leatherette). I used a Katzkin kit ($700) and install at Hollywood Motors in Chicago was $525. Seats look like what would have come from the factory. Always an option to go this route if your leather seats are looking tired.
