New to Mini's

Hello-We are picking up a new 2010 Mini next week.
Color Green
Heated seats, Sunroof, Bluetooth,iPod adapter and English Wood Interior.
We are looking forward to the new car and this great site(Forum). We plan to store the car in the winter (Northeast) and avoid the salt roads.

We hope to use it for a month or so. The baby was unexpected. My wife won it!

I think the only thing better than owning a MINI is owning a FREE MINI.

That is awesome!!

thanks. raffle ticket for charity cost $100.00. state takes $5500 for income tax on lottery winnings before car is delivered. MSRP was $23,000. We always wanted one. The cost will be about $7300 for the income tax and excise tax. Stilll very exciting. Dealer gave us the info on the car today.

Yeah sometimes the winners can't afford their prize when the IRS and local taxmen show up. I sometimes have to smile when I see someone hit a big payout at a casino then watch the taxhawks sweep in and grab theirs right off the top. But I still would rather win than lose, congrats to both of you.

Congratulations on winning a MINI! You sure don't hear that often on NAM. Just like lotteries or any big jackpot, there's really no such thing as free. Here in "poor" Kansas, the only thing we're not taxed on is the air we breath, which apparently the legislature hasn't figured out how to do yet.

Happy motoring!

Thanks for the kinds words. The mini was something we always wanted. We looked at it this way. If someone offered to sell us a new Cooper for $7500 we would jump at it. I'm sure the car will bring us lots of happy miles and the story will bring us many smiles.
