New to North American Motorings!
Hi everyone! I am just like the typical people on this site, I am OBSESSED with MINIS! I have loved them since the new models came out! I have ALWAYS dreamed of having one myself. That dream is going to become a reality in about three of four months!! The best part about this is I am getting one FREE that right, only because it's my mothers car! It is a silver mini cooper S convertible with black strips and beige and black two toned leather seats. It is fully loaded with everything except a navigation system. It is an automatic. It currently has 37,000 miles on it! She has kept it in great condition! She is wanting a bigger vehicle for her grandchildren. Which is understandable. I currently drive a white 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport!! Most awful car in history. I am on my THIRD engine. I am not rough on my car either. It is def a lemon. But hopefully I will be cruising in style soon!
Motor On!!
*INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED*

Hey there "20andlovinminis". It sounds like your mom is doing you a pretty special favor. A comparable MCS would likely cost $15K on a car lot, and who knows what condition .
Your car will likely have the original run-flat tires (RFT). These tires are notoriosly bumpy and skiddish on the road. They might be suitable for the smooth roads of Europe, but they don't make much sense on America's grated roads. They are the number one item most MINI owners change when they get a chance. You will be amazed at how much better your MINI will drive with real tires. I run Bridgestone Potenza Grids. These tires perform well in all seasons, ride well, handle well and are not too noisy. Of course there are many other decent tires too that fit the MINI. Just use the Tire Rack configurator to find them. http://bit.ly/d5qTZw
Keep the maintenance up according to schedule and the oil changed at least every 10K. Doing so, this car should run many years for you. I would recommend finding an independent MINI mechanic to save some cost over the BMW/MINI dealers.
Most of all, enjoy your new ride!
