Hello from SC! Intro and a couple of questions...

Just traded our 1997 BMW M3 in on a 2005 Cooper S, Pepper White with an automatic. Love this car and looks like I've found a good resource for info on it!

First order of business - get the iPhone working and hardwire the radar detector. Any easy links to solutions would be greatly appreciated. I spent over an hour last night on the audio section trying to figure out which iPhone adaptor to buy and STILL don't have a clear answer. All I want to do is put it in the armrest and have the thing charge and play audio, but there are several "solutions" that seem like everyone either loves or hates.

And the radar - I just can't stand a cord running down the front of that pretty dashboard. Any advice there would be helpful too.

Thanks again for all the info!

No input on the iphone, but I hardwired my Valentine One. I think I posted it somewhere around here, but basics are:
- use add-a-circuit to tap into fuse box by driver's foot
- connect hardwire power box
- run cable up side of dash, tuck wire into A pillar cover & headliner
- enjoy lack of cable hanging in your face

I hardwired my radar detector but did it the lazier way and tapped the larger of the violet wires in the roof switch console thing. No tapped fuse and circuit for me, I live life on the edge. I also ran my remtoe mute button down the driver's A-pillar and put it just to he right of the left most AC vent.

Congrats.

You can run the wire between the door seal and inner A pillar cover down to the fuse box. That's the easiest thing.
