Traded my HS MINI in on a S2000 in '05 much to my young son's consternation and went through a series of uninspired vehicles and started riding bikes. A good friend of mine purchased an 06 R53 here in Germany and sold it to me yesterday. Luckily the car is pre-disastered- a con rod broke on the 'Ring (yeah that 'Ring) the weekend before he was to deploy to Afghnanistan- a new motor and some magic from Claus Peter of MINI Clubsport and the car is back in action. The MCS will serve as my winter car and track toy here and a possible STX car when/if I come back to the US.

Now I need some JCW bits (seats and steering wheel) some new dampers and a quiet exhaust.

Now how do I get badges in my signature?

 

I would get the JCW (Sparco) seats over there cause they ain't got them here in US. quiet exhaust? Maybe a JCW zoorst?

 

Was your son upset with the S2000?, or was it with subsequent purchases?

 

It was with the loss of the MINI that I became parenta non grata.
