Hello All!
I'm looking to buy a mini in the somewhat near future and I figured there was no better place to learn about all the quirks, both good and bad, than a mini forum.
I hope I don't catch the Mod bug too badly, I did with my last motorcycle a while back and its still eating my wallet alive!![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
but what has turned me on to mini's is the small sporty performance, I like a vehicle that can handle the corners not just the straights (my bike is the same way) and the fuel economy is the final clincher over other cars I have been considering. So now I'm looking for a clean and loaded '07 S to make my daily (non summer) driver.

Welcome aboard, and nice bike BTW.
A MCS would be a nice complement to your two-wheeled DD. You might wanna look at either '05-'06, or '08. The first year of a changeover can be rough, and '07 was the year MINI S's went from supercharged to turbocharged.
Unless you have a strong preference for turbo over SC, you might look at '05 & '06 (R53). At least drive both & see which you like best. But the first gen styling, handling, and exhaust pop sold me when comparing both. Be warned...
Good luck in your search, let us know where you end up.

I have a buddy here in far West Texas who was selling his '09 PW/B Clubman JCW on cragslist. He hates to part with it but he is going back to Germany since he is in the USAF. You can see it in the link in my sig or just look here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24202791@N08/4990298605/

Ok I need everybody's huge opinion if you would be so kind.
I found a 2006 fully loaded works with crono kit and 26k miles on it pepper white.
So any opinions on the first gen vs the second gen would be great.
Does the turbo or super have better roal on power?
Does one handle better than the other?
Maintenance intervals better on one or the other?

BUT you may be right too...
thanks, the bike is my sick addiction :D
It has an unexpected sound to it too
I drove the 2006 with works kit on it today and fell in love with the super charger whine. and I also discovered I like the R43 interior more than the R56 and the crono package really sets it off.

I prefer the supercharger, but that is a personal opinion. Way could give you the real differences for your purposes.
My husband has an '11 Countryman on order and he loved the turbo on it when he test drove it. But I have no idea if that is a different turbo than you would get on the Coopers.

well the one I was looking at is gone, not sure if its good or bad at this point because the car did have some things worn out a little early IMO (some rear suspension components, can't remember if it was a link, rod, or bushing, and a front wheel bearing) but I'm a little apprehensive of the dealer now![Sly](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/sly.gif)
They raised the price for the online listing because of the money they had into repairs, but were apparently willing to keep the price where it was when I first came in. I was supposed to test drive the car as soon as it was fixed (they told me Tuesday) and they would hold it for me until then, but they just called me and said they sold it.
Nothing really wrong with that just a bit discourteous.
Back to the search I guess.
