Mcs Power Steering Failure - T5oday

My 2004 MCS HAS 74000 Miles. Suddenly My Wife Could Not Turn Into OUR Driveway. NO Prior Indications Of Problem. With Engine Turned Off, The Power Steering Pump Kept Running. I Disconnected The Battery (- Term.) To Not Kill THE Battery. This Late Saturday Afternoon Here In Hampton, Virginia I Called My BMW Service To Set Up Appointment. At $116.95 Per Hour, I Called My Reliable Neighborhood Guy. I'm Going With Him. He Pulled My Diesel From My Sailboat Last Year And Did A Great Job Overhauling It.
Any Word Of Caution Out There. Anything I Should Know Before He Starts? Thanks REDMGTD
