Just bought my first car. 2005 mcs!
So I am the proud owner of a 2005 McS. Black on black with chrome grill and side mirror caps. Ita a absoutle blast to drive on wow can it ever get you into trouble with the law very quickly. I am even more fortunate enough to be one of approximate 20 mini Cooper owners in my city. I love the uniqueness.
Couple of newbie questions.
My drivers seatbelt squeaks when I go over uneven road, is that because it's a super tight suspension?
I want to set up a iPod to my radio but I don't think it has a aux hookup. Is this a large process to set up? I found some options online for a kit to hardwire for a better sound.
That's all that I can think of right now, will post pics of my baby once it stops god damn snowing. Lol
Grouchie!

A 2005 should be able to support both an AUX connection (takes a regular 1/8" stereo headphone jack) and the factory iPod interface. The factory iPod interface plugs into the back of the radio where the CD changer normally would plug in, and lets you select playlists and change tracks using the radio/steering wheel controls.

My 05 MCS is also my first car. Never really needed a car in this city, but finally decided it was time.
I don't have a squeaky seatbelt, but I did install the Aux Input. Bought it from outmotoring.com and it was a breeze to install. You just need to pull the panel under the steering wheel down and work your arm up under the radio while feeling for the multi-pin connector. It's a bit annoying but relatively simple. Just be careful with all the other cables back there.
And if you haven't yet: get rid of the runflats and put some normal rubber on it. HUGE difference.

Seat belt squeak: check the right side/buckle for rubbing against the center console. A piece of the "fuzzy" side of a velcro strip applied at the point of contact will eliminate the noise.
AUX input kit is a piece of cake to install. Sorry, no experience with the IPod kit.
