New 2 the forum - from New Jersey
Hello Everyone -
My wife and I purchased our first Mini back in December 2010 from a Lexus dealership. The car was a real beauty a 2006 Cooper S convert - 17" rims - driving lights - 6 speed manual and was fast as hell & handled like it was on rails. Anywho, 2 weeks went by and we probably put about 50 miles on it - when out of no where the transmission went. Thinking it was just the clutch we weren't really worried about it because the car was still under limited warranty. So another 2 weeks pass and the Lexus dealership was unable to fix it - so they went ahead and towed it to a local Mini dealship for repair. Another week goes by and the bad news comes. The car needs the entire transmission replaced. We were really pissed at Lexus for selling us a lemon.
Finally we agreed to a refund..
Knowing we wanted another Mini - we decided to purchase a new one instead of going the used route. We searched and searched every Mini dealership but were unable to find one in stock that we liked. So our only other option was for Mini to build one for us to our liking. As I type the car is presently still in production. I can't wait to get it - likely gonna be another month.
We decided to go with a 2011 Eclipse Gray w/ blk stripes Cooper S convert - 17" web rims, driving lamps, rear fog lamp, Navigation, Cold Weather package, Premium Package, Sport Package and a bunch of other options.
Will be posting pics once we get it.
Additionally, I look forward reading posts and posting here. Also I look forward to any meet ups in the New Jersey area.
Cheers, SCIGONE
