My first 06 MCS!!
I bought a used 06 MCS Astro Black for 17k. I was quite upset with the color at first, but I have grown to absolutely love it!! The car is the most exhileriating experience I've ever had with driving before. I am going to wait 3-4 more years to get rid of it and buy the 4 door MCS. I will post some pictures after I am done 'murdering' it. Half way done so far.
The only thing that has gone wrong so far: I went to a local Audio shop to get an AMP installed. They wired everything backwards, Broke my Parrot, Rear passenger speaker does not work, and left a mess with the install. Also, my HK system sounds like complete crap now. I am quite furious and want to kill someone.
Other than that, I am thrilled to be part of the MINI club now....

Took it back yesterday. Waited around for 6 hours. They finally uncrossed the speakers. Still sounds like ****. Passenger tweeter has massive static. Parrot is perma broken. I am now taking it elsewhere to have everything uninstalled and back to stock.
Will have spent a total of $450. 20 hours over a period of 3 days to have a worse sound system and a broken Parrot and some scratches on my car.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe you'd change your opinion if you heard mine...and it wasn't even high priced at all, as far as aftermarket sound systems go.

Alpine CDA-105 head unit. (Also has optional/add-on integrated XM Radio and Bluetooth.)
Alpine KTP-440 amp.
Polk db-6501 components in front.
Polk db-691 coax's in rear.
Sound Ordinance B8-PT powered sub.
I highly recommend this setup. Total cost was around $640. not including the XM and Bluetooth. Figure about $150. more for these items plus subscription. Unless you go with a cheaper (cheesy-looking) head unit and no amp, you WILL NOT be able to beat this setup's bang-for-the-buck. Best of all, everything was "plug-and-play"; no extensive rewiring, and the sub is so small that it barely impinges on cargo room in the boot at all. (Look for my info in the sticky thread in the 1st gen. audio forum.)
