Hello all I am in the process of buying me a used Mini hope to have one in about 4-5 months. Plan on getting a S with manual and sunroof and leather. Heard alot on here about how great these little cars are. Drove a 2006 S and that's all it took fell in love with it. What year did they start using the sport button? I've heard that makes the car a whole new animal and I'm wanting to get one with the sport pakage. I can't wait till I get to post pictures of my new ride on here.

The sport button came with the 2nd gen R56 MCS in late 2007 I think?? If manual and sunroof and leather are the criteria should be easy to find since most are manual and nearly all have sunroof, just have hunt the one with leather. Good luck.

I loved my '06 supercharged MINI and would have happily driven it forever. I completely plan to buy another '06 in the future. I will do the same mods (pulley, CAI) to achieve the whine I loved. According to others, the clutch was kind of picky and hard to drive, but I drove it for 5 years and was accustomed I guess.
I don't have my '11 yet, but I will say it was a very different feeling in the half a dozen test drives I did. I absolutely loved the new clutch.
Maybe once I've had my '11 for a bit I will have a more solid opinion, but for now I love them both and if I had to pick one (if one of each were sitting in front of me similarly equipped) I'd probably have to resort to eeny meeny miney moe to decide .
My common sense mode says to get the newest, lowest miles one you can afford. Which is why my future '06 will be a supplementary vehicle, probably not a daily driver.
