I just purchased my first Mini tonight!
Hello everyone! I just purchased my first Mini tonight. I got a 2011 Cooper S with a 6 spd. This car is an absolute BLAST to drive! I didn't know how much fun you all were having driving down the road until tonight.
I had always been interested in the Mini's since I saw the movie "Italian Job". I am glad that I decided to get one. The cars look great, are fun to drive, and get good gas mileage to boot (which is good, especially with the price of gas rising).
I look forward to being an active member on the forums and learning more about these great cars!
P.S. I apologize for the dirty car. I uploaded some quick pictures that I took when I got it home. They did not detail the car today because of the rain, however they are going to detail it when I can bring it in.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! If this is going to be anything like the addiction I had when I was into mustangs, I am in some serious trouble... lol.

Welcome to the forums!! You will love your Mini if you are a previous Mustang driver.
I second the above recommendation to NOT let the dealer detail your car. They will do more harm than good...trust me. They will slap that buffer on your car and swirl the hell out of your paint by grinding dirt into the finish.
The first thing I did when I got my Mini was go to www.showcarespecialties.com and order some Mystique wash, hydro, black wow and Bannana Gloss wax.
Buy yourself some waffle drying towels and some microfiber buffing towels and you will be amazed how your car looks.
The nice thing about the Mini is you can wash and dry it in ten minutes
