New MINI owner
Hi there,
I just puchased a used 06 MCS (46k miles) two weeks ago from a local VW dealer, and I just love it. Original owner traded in on a new VW so I'm just the second owner. Blue with white top and stripes. I have a couple questions to ask, first, the car did not have any floormats, the dealer put in some cheap ones with their name on it and there is no rear mats. I see floormats are different on 02-06 as to 07- 11. What changes were made? I found some new rubber 07-11 mats on ebay at a good price, but my car is a 2006. Next, I noticed while driving, when I let my foot off the gas pedal, I noticed some back firing. I have been putting in good 93 octane gas and it seens to idle just fine. I would just like to know if this is common or maybe something is wrong. Thanks,

First, try cocomats.com, the mats for a 2nd Gen(07 and up) won't fit in the 1st Gen (02-06). I have my set from El Kabong I may be selling soon. Look in the marketplace here on NAM you'll probably find some for sale.
Second, the backfiring is the "burble" it is intentionally built in to the MINI and I miss it terribly. I used to make mine burble all the time, especially pulling in the driveway, the dogs would be in the house and lose it, MOM'S HOME! .
Welcome to NAM!

Hopefully by the end of the week. My husband tried to get his new CM to burble the other day. It did it once accidentally but we can't get it to burble on queue the way El Kabong did. I'm thinking it will just take a bit of practice.
