Noob in Asheville.

Hello all,

I just bought my first Mini last Friday. She's an 07 S, 6 speed red w/white roof and two tone interior. Lots of fun so far on these twisty roads. Planning on going over to NC Hwy 80 up through Kona and Double Island tomorrow for those in the know. She's stock right now but I hope to add a sprint booster and do something about how she seems to squat in the rear when I get on the turbo.

This looks like a great spot to glean some information off some great people.

Welcome

Whereabouts in Asheville? Where did you buy your car from? I bought an 07 JCW in red with white stripes couple of months ago. I also drive around in an E36 M3. Minis are lots of fun.

I'm over in West Asheville. I had looked for about three months until I located one with Carmax. I was unsure about it's history until I pulled up the service records on mini.com, everything checked out.

Welcome!!! Be sure to check out the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club. Kind of a haul from Asheville, but every now and then we are down through that area.

I am a part of Tarheel, and get out that way quite a bit. I have family all over western NC. Hwy. 80 is a blast! Have fun with that!

Thanks for putting out the welcome wagon, no pun intended towards the Clubman folks. It was a great morning for a drive on Double Island and 80.

Thanks for the invite to the dragon, I've been out there many times on the m/c. Maybe next year I'll make it out.

Ohhh...Double Island Rd! Last time I rode Double Island was on my Ducati! Just wore me out. On 80 are you going from 70 to Burnsville or from either side up to the Parkway then to Barnardsville to Paint Fork to Double Island? Either way thats a big loop. Who needs the Dragon, right?

I go tomorrow (Monday) to take delivery of our new Countryman S All4, not the same as a Cooper S but loads more fun than my F250!

We're out in Fairview BTW.

Right! Depends on the day, sometimes I go up 226-A to 80 into Kona then Double Island and back on 80 to Old Fort Rd. Congrats on the new vehicle.
