New Mini S Guy
I purchased my first, new to me, 2006 MCS two weeks ago today. It's astro black and completely stock.
I promised myself I wouldn't mod it since it my daily driver and I already have a project car. Well looks like I let myself down. I installed the window up module and rear brake pulsar yesterday. Today, I ordered the rear fog light retro kit, oem alarm, oem arm rest and auto dim with home link mirror. All should be ready for pick up next Wednesday. Everything but the alarm will be installed by me on Thursday. The dealer is going to install the alarm and update program for it and the rear fog light on Friday.
The only interior piece I haven't decided on is the parrot M9200 bluetooth kit.
The performance mods will come over the next two months. Probably a 15% pulley, CAI, plugs and a tune to start. Then new wheels and tires.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Wasn't aware of there was a euro spec armrest when I ordered. Will need to look into it.
I definitely plan to upgrade the rear sway bar and install strut tower plates. If I touch the exhaust, I will probably only install a header. I need to hear cat backs before I do anything there. I don't want something that sounds ricey. Want something deeper sounding like a flowmaster on a mustang. Not sure that can be achieved with a four cylinder.
If I go with the parrot M9200, it turns the whole car into a bluetooth hub so no need for an aux except maybe for my sirius radio. I'm really trying to stay away from visible wires from devices.
I would love to tint the windows but it's illegal to tint the passenger or driver door windows in Chicago. Yes, Illinois removed the statute as of the beginning of the year that made it legal. However, Chicago has an ordinance against it and since Illinois is a home rule state, local ordinances / laws over rule state ones.
It's not being pulled over that you need to worry about in Chicago. CPD are great people with bigger problems to deal with than infractions or speeding. It's the parking tickets. If you park anywhere near the lake, you won't make it much longer than an hour without getting tickets for no front plate, license plate covers and window tint. Parking enforcement can give tickets for the same offense every 15 minutes. Most don't, but many will rewrite after a couple hours. So park several hours and you could come back to a boot.
Now you may say I don't park that long on the street. If you travel, the airport garages are city run. Park a couple of days and you will return to a treat. O'Hare isn't bad but you see many cars with boots at Midway.
Thanks again for all the replies!!! I know the list will grow.
