I was looking for something good on gas, but fun to drive. I ended up test driving the Honda CR-Z and then the MINI Cooper base model. I went with the Cooper. It's a 2011 British Racing Green with the Sports Package and sunroof. I am a huge fan so far. I'm just getting used to being in a small car as I've never owned a small car before.
Welcome!
I'm right with you when it comes to getting used to "down-sizing". I'm only on week 4 with my 2011 MINI Cooper S after spending 6 years driving a 4-door, lifted Toyota Tacoma pick up truck. Loved the truck, but I'm not looking back as I've never had a car that's this much fun!
Yup. Had my base Cooper for about a month as well and loving it. Been driving SUV's for years so this feels like formula 1 to me! Been averaging 35 mpg's too!
I really had my doubts about the car... but it really won me over. I still have my pick-up truck since it's paid off. But I really have no desire to drive it ever again lol
I helped my daughter buy a MC 2 years ago as she was graduating college. I have lusted for one ever since while driving a Volvo 960 to 283000 miles. I thought the Countryman was going to be my Mini, but after driving them back to back many times I decided on a CR MCS. I have had it since last Thursday an am loving it. 33 mpg city/hwy driving is nice too. First mod happening today in the form of a clear bra on the bumper, 1/3 bonnet, mirror caps and that flat spot in front of the rear hatch. Happy to a member of the tribe!
Welcome! I bought an MCS after test driving it and the CR-Z too... I don't know about you but I definitely loved one and hated the other!
Haha yeah. I did like the CR-Z interior quite a bit. It was very futuristic and had the hologram-like speedometer readout. However, it was slow, handled like a school bus, and got horrible crash test ratings (to name a few of its flaws!).
