Okay, I just bought a 2002 liquid yellow mini with 57k miles. I do love driving it. However, I must have done something wrong because I used to be able to control the radio/CD from my steering wheel and now--nothing happens...So I read the radio manual. Tried to adjust sound quality by "calling up HK (musical note button)" per instructions...looking for the MINI h/k words to show up on the display but they never did. This stopped me in my tracks.

In short, I was able to use the steering wheel radio adjustments at first, but now I cannot. It's only been a few weeks. Any advice? Something tells me it is something simple that I did that I need to un-do. I just don't know WHAT yet.

Also, should I (should I have) purchased the 3,000 dollar warranty/3 years?

Do you have H/K? Look at the speaker covers and if it does not has Harmon Kardon, you don't have it so you won't see it as an menu item. As for the controls, I am not sure why but I do know that mine sometimes stop working until I turn the car off and on.
