Mini Buying Pointers

Hi All -- Newbie here to the MINI---
So I ordered a new Countryman that's due in next week, I hope! So I am wondering because I ordered instead of bought off the lot if I can still negotiate the final price at all. I was already told that I could get $750 off MSRP but I am hoping to get a little more. I am trying to work on my finance rate which I am pretty happy with but what other things can I work with if cash off isn't a further option. Please give me any pointers or tips that you might have, thanks!

I would have made sure to negotiate the price before ordering the car. I think you've lost your edge if you've given them a deposit and it seems you've already agreed to the $750 off MSRP if you moved forward on the order. Good luck however I think it's too late now.

Hmmm...that is what I was figuring, but they were so chill I couldn't even get them to talk about the price hardly. And then they were all if you want to order one let us know, you have to put x down to get it on order but it's totally refundable... la la la It was the most bizzare car experence it was like they didn't care what I did...

You may have lost your edge on the new car price but if you have a trade in, go in educated and negotiate tight there. Usually if a car dealer gives you a good price on a new car, they make it up someplace else.

You can also try to negotiate any of the extended warranties the dealership offers. Some have reported good luck with this. I took delivery last week and mine wouldn't budge.

A lot of people have gotten floor mats thrown in especially since they're included in the 2012's with a small price increase.

Overall, Countryman's are moving well enough that they don't have to negotiate especially on a car that was custom ordered. Mini's in general demand sticker price.

That said, good luck!! It never hurts to try.

My experience was very similar to yours. I've never had a more chill car buying experience.

Too late now, but if you have several dealers in the area, call around. Some are willing to go lower than others just via phone/email and you can go from there. I've got 8 dealers within 150km.

Lowering the finance rate definitely can save big bucks in the long run.
