Ordered my Mini Cooper S Convertable today. Was told about 8 weeks for delivery.

 

Ordered on 14 Feb a 2012 Clubman JCW (Black body/roof with silver sport stripes on hood/roof/back) and it finally changed this week from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production". I'll be getting rid of my 2005 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner (Black). I see a couple MINI's each morning on the Rt 66 drive to DC and can't wait to get mine.

 

Shows I am booked on the INDEPENDENCE II setting sail tomorrow March 29 arrives April 10
Anyone else taking the boat ride with me?

 

Your dates are exactly them same as mine. I bet our cars are getting in trouble right this second at port, waiting for a ride to the US. I wonder if we'll get on the same boat. This waiting for a spot on a boat is agonizing!! Hope you're doing better than me, with the waiting.

 

The OL says my estimated delivery date was the 25. Talked to my MA today and he said that even though they got ten minis in today that neither mine nor another person on the talisman arrived today. I was trying to set up a delivery date for Monday and he said hopefully it will get in tomorrow so we can do that. So apparently the OL is waaaay off. Hopefully this helps a little.

 

Congrats! Ours will probably be produced around the same time! Get a production week yet?!

 

Took delivery of my Ice Blue / White / Polar Beige MCS today.

I've driven it about an hour so far. Really an amazing vehicle.

My first time driving a MCS with the JCW tuning kit. Very impressive!

Yes, I managed to pitch the tail out about 2-3 feet on a cloverleaf already.

Yes, I've exceeded the speed limit at least once already.

Haven't gotten a production week yet, I just ordered today, should I have gotten one already? Congrats on your purchase!

 

No, not every one gets their production week right away. My MA luckily was able to change a car the dealer was ordering to meet my specs and got me in quicker. But quicker wasn't very quick as I ordered a week ago, and my production week is 4/8. You should be getting it shortly, or whenever your MA finds information on it.

The whole process is new to me, as I've never ordered a car from factory. But I do know, this waiting stuff sucks! I know once mine finally get into production, I'll be even worse! Haha. Keep me posted on your status! Hopefully they come across the pond together!

 

Haha, I can just picture them racing around the docks, doing donuts together, and annoying the other cars. I get the feeling that my Coupe is just as anxious to meet me as I am.

And I doubt I'm doing better than you with the waiting. The first few weeks actually flew by but the second I found out my car was actually built time screeched to a halt...

Anyone who was on the Talisman ship get there mini yet? My OL says EDT for today, does anyone know if that means it got put on a truck for delivery or if it's suppose to arrive at the dealer on that date? I'm a bit antsy!!!

Woohoo, I finally had a bit of time to call ASK MINI and speak with a real human being rather than the automated system.

Automated system still says no confirmed production date, but the rep was able to confirm that production has indeed begun.

Seems like they must batch process updates for the automated system, and then batch process for Owners Lounge a bit less frequently. They really ought to improve that - I bet they'd see a significant reduction in the number of phone calls their reps need to handle!

When I called the automated system, I too get scheduled for production with no known date. but yet, the customer care agent says "You are status 153, Assembly Started, early morning today" so I think the automated system is updated maybe once a week.

I think you and I are on the same schedule and ship. Is your car a coupe or roadster?

Looking at timeline, the next ship out for west coast is the Tomar on the 8th of April, arrivng in Southern California on May 1st. Perhaps a mid May delivery for both of us?

 

Question for those whose cars are being delivered: "How long before the boat docked did it pop back up on radar for tracking????". I'm supposed to dock in Baltimore in next 24 - 48 hours and I'm surprised that it's still not back in radar/satellite range???

Mine's a Hardtop S. I wanted the coupe so badly I could taste it, but I can't justify a 2 seater unless I have a 2nd car. (Not that the backseat of the hardtop is much of a backseat, but it'll do for the times when I need one).

 

does anyone know, askmini says i'm in body shop with an estimated date of completion as March 30th. is that the end of body shop part or is peanut finally done?

 

My MINI is at the dealership. Shouldn't be long now.
