"Those Waiting for a 2012" Support Group

Hi all,
After mulling it over for about a year, our decision was unfortunately expedited when my wife had an accident and our BMW 128i was totaled . Fortunately she is OK, and after about a month of shopping around, we now have a JCW Hardtop on order!
We were sorely tempted by the JCW they had on hand, especially with the heavy discount they offered, but there is something about ordering a car you know hasn't been too sullied by other people's grubby hands . Just kidding, but we are a tad paranoid about buying any manual transmission car off the lot. The main factors, of course, are getting exactly what we want, and the sweet agony of anticipation. We don't even have a production number yet!
It's only been a day, but I think I already want to amend the wait to just "agony".

This doesn't bode well for me. I just landed in port and was hoping to get my car in the next week - but sounds like it could be a longer wait.

Were you getting any after market extra's put on the car? (stripes, lights etc.)?

Noreen99,
Lil Maky went to body shop on 3/25. Calling ASK-MINI All week for updates no change in status. Most builds take 8 to 10 days. I suspect that when OL updates on Saturday or Sunday night it will be done waiting for a train
I think you will get surprised this week with your car done with production

First off, it's Recaro's, and secondly, they are really comfortable. I ordered them in my Clubman without trying them out also. I picked up my MINI up on Saturday and almost didn't want to get out of the car they were that comfortable. You'll like and well worth the cost.

I'm in Houston and mine came through Brunswick, GA. The crossing from Southampton took about two weeks, including a stop in Baltimore. It came into port on the 10th and arrived at the dealer yesterday. Waiting on a couple dealer-installed options and will be picking it up tomorrow or Thursday. I would guess your timelines would be similar.
Thanks for that!! Friday the ASK-MINI rep said my car was in the paint shop and the automated service was saying a 4/2 estimated completion date. Today that changed to "In Assembly with a completion date of 3/31" so I went to the live rep who could only say "You're in stage 4 - produced but not yet shipped." All I can presume is my car is either in Oxford or Southampton waiting either on a train or a boat (respectively).
The wait continues...

Mine is on a boat somewhere...Can't find it on the shipping sites by my VIN but I know it's en route. Trying to get more info from my MA but he hasn't responded yet. Dude, it's been like 4 hours since I emailed you!?!? Just kidding.
No biggie, it's not like knowing is going to make it get here faster. I'm just excited.

I'm excited! Can't wait for this lil' guy to get here! Lol.
AND to make things ever better. My expected completion date is the 12th! (Just found this out via ASK-MINI too!) So cool!

Looking over the posts, it appears that Lil Maky is about three days behind you on the production line Today ASK-MINI said "in the paint shop, assembly next". I thought for sure it would be waiting for transport also, but I checked the shipping web site and the next ship to west cost is April 13 with only 20 days at sea. Last Friday this was April 8 with 24 days at sea. So, still looking good to catch the Tomar on the 13th with a Mid-May delivery!

i called my MA yesterday about why my car has been at the NY/NJ VDC for over a week. He says he does not know and has been waiting for an explanation for about a week. Says he has 5 cars waiting there that were supposed to be in before the end of March. I wonder what the hell is going on. I'm getting so anxious knowing its only 30 minutes away from me.

Here's a picture of my new baby. The waits hard, but definitely worth it. Hang in there everyone.
