Chili Red MCS
Order Date: 8/19/11
Production Started: 8/30/11
Expected Production Completion Date: 9/07/11

That's all I know at this point. I just read another post from someone who ordered a Coupe and he was told by his MA on 9/02 that there would be a delay for the Mini Connected + NAV due to the Japan earthquake. I didn't hear anything about that and I ordered it also. If anyone else has any delays, please let us obsessed people know.

The earthquake situation was cleared up months ago. Remember that orders are filled on two criteria. 1. how many slots your dealer has available for that month and 2. the color. An example that I have stated previously that I ordered an uncommon color and that there were other people awaiting the same color who ordered b4 mine. They had to wait for enough orders for that color so they can begin production. I hope this explanation helps.
My order was placed on July 18th completion date Aug 19th Shipped Aug 31st. Est Delivery end of Sept.
Be patient.

I have connected and NAV and there was no delay to my vehicle. It is on a boat crossing the Atlantic as we speak.

All I know is what mine was scheduled at one point to start today. Friday I was told it was moved to Sep 19th. A month after I ordered it before it starts. It is a BRG Convert with a mini connect.

Not sure why I got a two week push back. I assume it is because BMW hates me... Or I have ticked off the gods. Not sure.

Hey Bubble and Squeak,

I don't think that anyone hates you. It might just be that there aren't enough orders for convertibles or in BRG to begin production. I don't think there is anything else going on.

Good to know. Thanks! I didn't think it held mine up since it was in the Body Shop last week. It's fun to anticipate and follow it's progress. I purchased my last Mini off the lot, but wanted to order this one so I could follow it's progression from the factory .

Is Labor Day a holiday in Canada? The Elektra has been sitting off the coast abt 30 miles from Halifax since early am today.. she was supposed to dock on the 5th but her schedule was changed to the 6th. Get those BMW's and Mini's off and get to NY asap!

I am so ready to order my JCW hardtop! I am still being told that I have to wait until October to put the order in since that is when they will have open production slots for the JCW hardtop. Waiting for your production to be completed is bad enough, I just want to put my order in. Patience is not one of my strong suits.

Isn't that where the new(ish) Wegman's is? I have a soft spot for Wegman's.

I just saw three of y'all (at least) have recently ordered from MINI of Sterling, VA. I am wanting to order in the next week or so, and have asked them (among other dealers) for a quote. Did anyone get any discounts when ordering?

Feel free to PM me to not hijack this thread (I am slightly off topic, but will soon be waiting for a '12 as well-I hope).

Thanks.

Duane.

I ordered from Sterling and I did get a nice discount. I used my credit union buying service. I see no reason to pay msrp.

So what did you pay versus MSRP?

The "discount" was not great, and the dealer is not motivated to deal because of the need to order the car, but paid 2k over invoice. Think it was about 2200 under msrp.

Like Bubble and Squeak said, I used my bank's car buying service to get a slight discount on the car. The service would have sent me to the Annapolis dealership, so I played it off the Sterling folks to see if they would honor it.

Just because I wanted to have a little fun with photoshop, I made this graphic to describe the current state of my mini adventure.

The sig area makes is SO SMALL, so I thought I would post it here just to share. Right now, it is ON ORDER.

Enjoy!

Chili Red MCS for Production Week 38

Hi! I've been lurking here for a while trying to learn as much as possible about R56 MINIs. Finally took the plunge last week and ordered 2012 MCS. Car is ostensibly for my wife, but I'm hoping to get to drive it once in a while! Being in Arizona we will have a long wait for delivery even after waiting for week 38 production. We are "expecting" mid November.

Since we have a little time left to tweak final spec I am seriously thinking about adding DTC option. No plans for Autox, but we are a "spirited driving" family so might benefit. Any advice? Dave

I would save the money. I don't think you would see any appreciable difference. It may increase resale value just a wee bit.
