Thanks PatM! I like going fast around roundabouts, tight curves, etc. and am concerned that DSC will "nanny" too much (cut power, etc.) Was hoping that EDLC (which comes with DTC) would be next best thing to LSD to avoid inside wheel spin.

OMG my mini is on a ship!

Hi
Im brand new here and have to share that I JUST found out the ship my mini is on and she is sailing her way to me as I type. YAY!!!!!

For those with VIN numbers, and were at Southampton port coming to Port Hueneme CA, here is what I know on the sailing information.

Ship is the THEMIS LEADER, it left Southampton on 9/6/11 and is due in CA on 9/29/11. The booking number is GBSOU944632, and there are 249 Minis on this ship, including mine.

Cheers all!!!

my car is a 2012 Clubman Ice Blue

So... Virgo Leader is going to go through the MiraFlores locks in about 20 minutes, and I can't be here to watch it.

From what I can tell, you can't save an image from the web cams, but you can take a screen shot and then paste that into paint and save it...

If any of you all are hanging out and can take a screen shot, please do so...

Awesome!

These are great! I feel like I was there.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the shots.

The ship doesn't look like it has any hurricane damage...

FOr everyone who's MINI is on the Othello, It has been delayed a day. Irene caused this mess. Ship is now due into NY (Jersey City) on Sept 15th and will depart for the next port on the 16th. Once there is a delay of one day, everything else after it gets pushed back a day.

looks like mine has been loaded onto the Themis Leader and is on its way to the West cost - anticipated arrival date there is 9/29. Looks like my MA was good with his guess of early October delivery date.

My little guy is on the Patriot, set to dock in Baltimore on the 12th. The ship appears to be carrying 314 of his closest MINI friends. Apparently a little more cramped than on the spacious Themis Leader

Themis Leader update

Hi gang, for all whose new babies are on the Themis Leader, I have been watching it on this site in the journey. So we are now at day 4 of the trip to CA, and these pictures are where the ship is now, it's heading into the Bermuda Triangle territory no updates once it gets past these islands on the map. I will try to capture the pictures going through the Panama Canal but don't know if it has a webcam at Cristobal lock, I can't find one so far

Oh and yes, my dealer said they install all the graphics, my clubbie will be getting white stripes and the blackjack sunroof decal

Well a bunch of the new MINI Coupes have hit production as of this week. This appears to be the first set of custom ordered Coupes in the US.

Congrats to us all for our soon to be owned cars and for being the first batch of the brand new model from MINI!

Most of us went into production on Tuesday/Wednesday the 6th/7th.

Can't wait!

The Tugela moored this morning 9/11/11 in Baltimore. My CM is on the same boat so hopefully the truck can drop off yours on the way to Indiana. for those waiting I ordered mine 6/14/11, went into production around 8/15/11, and made the ship in Bremerhaven for the 9/1/11 departure. Patience is a learned experience . . . .

I just switched to "Awaiting Transport". I'm in NJ so I'm assuming about 2-weeks until final delivery. Is that a good assumption?

Matthew, have you identified what ship your Mini will be on? Numerous factors will affect your delivery date. Realistically, I think 3 - 4 weeks is more likely. (Sorry to be a buzz kill.) Have you been thru all the steps in "How to Track Your Mini"? Lots of good, helpful info there. Hang in there!

No, haven't ID'ed ship. I was just figuring 3 days to get to the debark port, 8 days to sail to NY and then a day or two to get to NJ.

I guess once I get the "En Route" I can narrow it down better.

My girlfriends Mini left on South Hampton on 8/29 and ported in NJ/NY on 9/8 (technically on the NJ side of the port) so approxmently 9 days at sea with one stop in Halifax

It was unloaded from the Elektra last Thursday/Friday and they are saying that it will not leave the VDC until Monday the 19th, thats a little over the week at the VDC (business days, the NJ VDC is closed on the weekends) and not be ready to be picked up at the dealer till the following day on the 20th.

Im assuming your ordered your Mini from the Ramsey dealer?

If so they are approximately one hour from the VDC. so the longest wait once it gets state side is it waiting in line to pass all the inspections and such the VDC does before putting it on the truck to head to the dealership

Its crazy knowing your Mini is sitting in a warehouse just miles from your house waiting to be inspected by the crew at the VDC, specially for a WHOLE WEEK .

Sweet Coupe! I love the color combo! I am jumping on the coupe bandwagon. I think the coupe looks amazing in person. Most of the photos I have seen don't do it justice.
