Toscana off the coast of Baja CA now. Not that I'm anxious to pickup my clubman. Still haven't sold my '09 Cooper S =/

I still need to sell my car as well.

I struck a deal with my dealer and will use it as trade bait if I cannot retail the car. I already know what the dealer will give me for car but it will be somewhat of a loss versus a retail sale.

The Toscana is the ship that brought our cars over in 2009.

I'm on the Tamesis too! Can't wait - I was originally given an ETA of early October, but my Mini may actually be ready for pickup at the end of this month.

To you guys trying to sell your cars, I ended up having success with eBay when I just sold my 2009 128i to be replaced with the new MCS. Craigslist gave me no serious inquiries after 2 months, and cars.com gave me no inquiries at all - after spending $65 on the listing.

So I threw it up for auction on eBay, and although the auction failed to meet reserve, the high-bidder contacted me right after auction closing and made a straight offer to buy. I got exactly the amount I was looking for, and earned a solid $4,000 more than the dealerships had quoted me on trade-in or buy-back. The eBay fees were in the ballpark of $150. Totally worth it. The months wasted on Craigslist yielded nothing, but eBay found me a buyer within 7 days.

And FWIW, I don't work for eBay.

Go for it!

I never even remotely considered eBay for car selling in the past, but it was a last resort for me this time. And yet I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was.

The color is so beautiful; photos don't do it justice. And it is SO fun to drive! It's worth the wait!

Zoom out a couple of times to see what's near. Looks like TOSCANA is getting close to Ensenada. WooHoo.

@petery - That would be great and increase my chance of getting my baby this weekend.

Hopefully they'll let it dock because it's a day early. What if it stops in Ensenada for a margarita???

@swpars - Maybe you'll get yours sooner after all.

Just picked up my little monster this weekend. Black 2012 MCS with Sport package. Very stoked to make a few changes

Starting small with getting custom Wine Red (RAL 3005) stripes with cream piping done for the roof on Thursday!

Rubber Mats, stubby antennae, and a few other tidbits on the car now. Tint for the fogs soon too.

I feel for all you out there waiting on yours to get in. The wait is gonna be worth it!

Very sharp looking. I love it. I am planning to get red stripes on mine too. Show us more pictures once they are installed. I just got my stubby antenna in the mail and made a post about it under 1st. Gear. But just in case you don't see it, here is a link to the antenna.

I don't think it's going to make it into Port Hueneme today unfortunately .
I measured the distance on the marinetraffic site and it said that the ship is 16 hrs. away from Port Hueneme. Oh well. Tomorrow morning then, as scheduled.

LOL, why is it so slow? It takes less than 4 hours to get to Ensenada from Los Angeles

I will have to agree with Wilde Maus on this one, 20 days out in the ocean is way too long, these people are having a big party in Ensenada

Yep, says 16 knots. On the other hand, I'd rather have my Mini arrive save and without damage because the boat goes slow and steady, instead of some speedy boat that makes all the Mini's toss from one side to the other.

I know, we have ferries in Washington State that are faster than that!

Seriously though, I wonder why the MINIs aren't all shipped to the East Coast and shipped cross country on trucks or railcars. Seems like that would be quicker than the Panama canal route. Must be some compelling reason (cost?)

I was wondering that too. Maybe it's more dangerous to transport them on the Freeways than the open sea.

Thanks for the eBay suggestion. I had considered it, but forgot to actually list it. Already got an offer too! Someone wants to paypal me the money sight unseen and pay a charter company to pick it up. LOL. Don't worry, I know its a scammer.
