MA just called and appointment set for saturday at 9am to pick up my car. Just in time as I am getting tire of popcorn.

Too bad I only have time on saturday, or I would have pick it up tomorrow since he said it will be ready tomorrow.

I am not very good with the name thing, but it wouldn't be a MINI if it doesn't have a name right? So I decided I will name my MINI "Prince Charlie" What do you guys think? Took me a really long time to decide.

 

It took a few days for my car's VIN to show up on the W&W website. I had just about given up. Maybe your MA will know? I feel your pain!

 

Prince Charlie...I like it. For as tricked out as he is, I've no doubts that he'll be anything at all 'PC'....pun intended No doubt that your MA will tell you, but you should know that SCMM is hosting a BBQ @ MOO Saturday afternoon at 3. I haven't made a connection with those folks yet, but I suspect there will be a ton of folks and their MINI's there that afternoon.

No wonder my MA told me that he will be busy in the afternoon and made me do the pick up in the morning. Guess he wanted to enjoy the BBQ.

I am also thinking about joining them to do some motoring sometimes in the future. Are you thinking about joining them?

 

Yep, this Saturday. I've already submitted my application for SCMM, I just need to pay them their one-time $35 fee, which I will probably do in person assuming that the club Treasurer is there on Saturday. Otherwise, I'll PayPal it. I think that one of the really special things about these cars is the Community that comes with them...NAM most certainly represents that in a very positive light! I figure if I go to a few events a year, I'll meet some cool new people with whom I already share an interest, so what the hell...

Finally another Tomar passenger! I thought I was the only one. What site are you using to track? I've been using sailwx and it never picked the Tomar up again after the Azores.

 

My CountrymanS has been Awaiting Transport for quite a while. It missed the boat on 7/31, so I'm hoping it leaves on the TAIKO on the 3rd of August. Who knows?

 

I feel your pain xenor. My Countryman S was born on July 18 and has been sitting at the port. Best I can tell, mine has missed the boat again. Mine will also be going to Georgia.

 

Well, here's to hoping for getting on the Taiko.

 

P.S. My MA said it would be towards the end of this month.

Having already sold my car, I am now carpooling with my wife every day. Taking her to her job, kid to nanny, and to my job....makes for long days. I am ready for this car to be here!

 

I think my wife's has missed the boat also. I have not found it on any WW line ship yet. It has been at the Port since 7/12 or so.

 

that's horrible! My car arrived at Bremerhaven on 7/12 and was loaded on Tomar on the 14th... I think there was another ship on the 30th. you've got to have faith it's out there somewhere! what does your MA say?

 

WOOHOOO! I'm "In transit" according to ask MINI! I have no idea which ship I'm on because my VIN still does not show up on the WW site. Bit my baby is making his way to me as we speak.

 

Your wife's MINI may be shipping on the K-Line.

Check here for Southampton departures and the closest port of entry for your dealer and you may be able to come up with a vessel it may be on.

Just because it doesn't show up on WW doesn't mean it's not on a ship.

Saw a truck load of Mini's driving into Boston this morning on my way into work! :D

 

It's probable that I just don't understand, but Countrymans leave port in Bremmerhaven, right? so would this PDF be accurate?

Not understanding the mini ordering process, at least the shipping part at all, I'm having a hard time understanding when my Countryman will get on a ship and how to determine what ship it's on.

 

It would be correct, just look under Bremmerhaven. I didn't know they depart from another location. I wonder why that is.

 

from what I can tell the Bremerhaven ships stop at Southhampton on the way out so they can pick up the Oxford-built Minis.

It makes sense that the East coast bound ships could be on K- Line which don't go the to west coast.
