Thanks swpars. Crossing my fingers for you that it'll get to you by early next week. So our cars are at the VDC now. Too bad we don't know what's going on there and what they do to them. Since the next ship with more cars is arriving on the 27th, I am sure they have to process all of them quickly and make room again. Hoping mine gets loaded on a truck by tomorrow. My dealership is only 3 hrs. away from the VDC.

How did you get that info. When I use the 2wglobal Track and Trace web site and enter my vin # I get a response that No Records Found. Are you using a different site or a different number to track. My 2012 CM was on the Toscana that docked yesterday at Port Hueneme in CA.

 

Hi randers51. Doublecheck with swpars how they got the info. Somehow the 2wglobal Track and Trace page wasn't working when I just searched for my VIN.

Enter VIN in the CARGO ID field and hit the track button. See if it works now.

 

Just out of curiosity. Why wouldn't your MINI be unloaded at Toscana's next stop in Tacoma, WA, since you live near Seattle?

Mind you this post is from 2004. So the numbers are probably different now.

The 84 employees at the Port Hueneme VDC process ~400 cars per day (BMW - New and European Delivery, MINI, and on occasion Rolls Royce). The facility holds 3000 cars, with many more cars waiting down at the docks to travel the 1.3 miles to the VDC.

After the shipping protection is removed, the cars receive one final wash before entering the VDC building..... software campaigns (in the case of the MINI V.36 if it hasn't already been installed).

At the quickest, a Priority One car could be fully processed in two days.

So maybe the car was loaded back on the Toscana after VDC inspection? I thought the VDC took 2 days to process a Priority 1 car, but that figure was from 2004.

I was just thinking..maybe there isn't a VDC in Tacoma. But why then have the ship stop there. Hm. Yeah, I saw that "delivered from" on my record too and it confused me. I am pretty sure mine hasn't left the VDC yet.

 

Nope, still doesn't work. I just a No Records Found error.

 

Shoot, sorry randers51. Not sure whatelse to suggest. I hope your little guy didn't fall off the ship. Maybe he is still sitting on the docks at Port Hueneme and they haven't logged him in yet.

 

There is no BMW/Mini VDC in Tacoma. All cars destined for the west coast pretty much have to go through PH.

It's unfortunate.

Dang. I thought since the Toscana was going to Tacoma anyway, they might have had the sense to process our car quickly through the PH VDC and stick it back on the ship.

Oh well. Back to the waiting game at the VDC.

Just talked to our salesperson at Northwest Mini.

He said the car will be here "about this time next week".

Longer than I expected, but at least now I know. Fellow Pacific Northwesterners - use this for reference. He also said that new 29 MINIs would be coming into the dealership that day (presumably all from the Toscana).

 

Just one more week swpars. Almost there.
I still don't know when mine will arrive at the dealership. I was really hoping it would be tomorrow or Sunday.

If you log into the Owners Lounge and click on "track your MINI", it should say "At Distribution Center".

Scroll down where it says ORDER DETAILS. Click on it. It shows the VIN and some other info also the "estimated delivery date."

Mine says Monday, 9/26. But it says it's an estimate and to contact dealer for specifics.

Check yours to see what it says. Maybe they won't arrive at the dealerships until Monday now. Ugh.
