Seriously? Complete lack of information? Do you realize Mini is the ONLY manufacturer that allows customers to log in and track their vehicle through the complete order / build / shipping process? I'm amazed at how much information they provide for you.

I think in this scenario, since we are privy to this information, it's important that the information is accurate and up-to date (i.e. updating the owners lounge a week after the car has made port, etc). When people have information like this, they plan around it.
Plus there's a lot of excitement when watching your new car sail over from across the pond.
I think that's all Bazinga is trying to say.

Maybe my use of the word "complete" was a bit strong. I'm anxious and excited and I'm trying to plan my three hour trip to the dealer around my work schedule. Sorry if I offended you pdoel.
I did get an update from my MA saying MINI hasn't been updating the supply sheet as usual probably as a result of the plant shutdown. He expects it to come this Friday.

I ordered mine 8/7/12 and the only update I've got is that it is "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" on the ASK-MINI phone line. The online tracker still just says "on order". I was a little disappointed to hear from my dealer that the production plant has been shutdown for the last week. I saw someone post that the plant has been shutdown for 2 weeks. I hope they get started on it soon. The wait is going to be agonising. I can't wait to get it!

Had called 866 ASK MINI this morning and had the same status as I have had since Aug 2nd... BUT I decided to call again this afternoon and instead of saying "in production" my vehicle is apparently now "in the body shop". Completion date is the same (tomorrow, the 23rd). Great to see some progress.
Let's hope it can get on a boat quickly!

Wife's MA called and told her that her car was at the dealership. 53 days from time of order. About seven days from the Port in CA to the Dealership in Portland. We plan to pick it up in two weeks. She can' sit still. We have an 1800 mile drive to get it, and I am afraid that if she drives there will be some paper along the way as she is going to want to get there. Coming back will be much slower.

No still have to pay Texas Sales Tax when we get home. Wife has relatives in area and we stopped by the dealer on a whim in June, and wife ordered the car. Now we just have to drive 1800 miles to get it. Worked out as wife sold her car to another relative in the area, so we have to deliver that anyway.

Nice. Mine still says the 23rd. I think your order was in before mine, so that makes sense. Here's hoping that the two week break means the other logistics pipelines are clear and everything happens quickly!
I also wonder at what point we'll actually know our cars are done since all the systems seem to be a little behind. I wouldn't be surprised if you car was done on the 22nd, but the phone system didn't know it until the 23rd (and I wouldn't be suprised if the OL didn't know until the 24th). I've seen people updating timelines here with paint and body shop dates, but I've no idea where they're getting them from. It might be from their MA. I'm still hoping to not bug them much. I figure I'll only bug them if it seems like something is stalled or wrong - I'm pretty sure they can't influence much at all that goes on at the plant.
I'm happy to at least be at the point where something is potentially happening.
