Yeah. Mine didn't register until the day after the boat left. ASK-MINI didn't change its status until 2 days after the boat had left. OL didn't change its status until 3 days after the boat had left.

 

Confirmed on the Toronto on the WWL website !!!!!!!!! Mini Happy dance to commence in 3-2-1 !

 

Just checked my VIN and it's not on there - since yours registered already, I'm guessing that means I didn't make the Toronto


Too bad - that adds a week to the journey as the TOPEKA doesn't leave port until 9/19.

My boat seems to still be storming along. It lost a day and it's arrival at Halifax was moved from the 17th to the 18th (and thus the NY arrival pushed back a day as well). A day's nothing at this point, really!

I haven't told my MA, so hopefully they'll still try to set the tentative date she gave me. To be honest though, if it did slip a day it would just be moving from a Thurs to Fri. As long as I have it by that Sat!

I haven't really heard too much from her. It's such a long process with so little to do and I tend to not like to bug people for no reason. So far since the purchase I wrote to her once during the post-build pre-transportation stage when I managed to confuse myself by getting the wrong information from ASK-MINI, probably by typing by production number in wrong. After that short exchange she told me she'd send me a message when the car got on a boat so we would finalize insurance.

She didn't actually send me an email until 4 days after ASK-MINI switched over to knowing it was on a boat (which was 6 days after the boat had actually left Bremerhaven). We finalized the insurance yesterday and that's been about it. I didn't email her when I learned it was on a boat because I sort of wanted to see how long it would take for her to notice and call me. (And there wasn't really much to do. The insurance stuff only took a few minutes...)

As far as financing deals, I'm not sure the date of delivery makes too much of a difference. If you wanted to inquire about a deal I'd certainly ask sooner rather than later.

 

I don't think they will get rid of that offer they had it last month as well. If anything the incentives should get better on '12s until they are gone.

That's what I was thinking as well - in addition to the MA knowing delivery would be in mid-October but giving me the current finacning numbers. I was told by him that they needed to run my credit by 8/31 to lock in the finance rate.

But those things in conjunciton with QE3 make me think it will be all good.

 

Not sure if you know this or not but I think you can get a discount if you are a AAA member. I got about $1500 off sticker. Or a USAA member. I already finalized my deal, did my trade in and all. I have to pay them the balance when my cooper arrives.

I've read on here some people who've gotten great pricing from their dealers. Mine was really straightforward - he said here's the price, and here's what we will sell it to you for. So there wasn't any haggling involved. I knew I wasn't getting the lowest price, but I also would have had to travel a ways to get better pricing, and I don't have time for it. I knew it was the best deal I was going to get when he let me leave the dealership - twice!
