So my dealer said that the "Service Order" has been done. Was having Rally Lights installed at the port. She said it SHOULD go onto a truck tonight or first thing in the morning. I can come pick up B&S tomorrow!!! The ride from the VDC to the dealers is a grueling hour and a half.

She said, at the latest, Wednesday...

Have people been successful in getting the $750 Motortober discount if they ordered earlier? I'm expecting delivery in first week of November.

 

I ordered my MINI on the 7th of October 2011. It was put into production on the 11th but I didn't find that out until the 14th. MA says it went into Body Shop today, Status Code 151, so I guess the body was welded together today and will be painted tomorrow (all times Oxford I suppose). That would mean assembly on Wednesday and completion/checkout on Thursday. I have not been able to find out what ship it will be put on, no matter how hard I try or who I ask. When did you guys find out the ship name/date leaving/Port Loc/etc?

 

Your MINI still has a ways to go. While I had a production number, VIN, and the car was produced and at the port all in about 10 days (leading me to think I'd have the car in 3 weeks), it sat at the port awaiting a shipping vessel for 15 days, to my dismay. The trip to NYC took 14 days, and it was at the VDC for 7 days as well. The bulk of the delivery estimate is transport time it seems. So, I've been driving myself insane for the better part of 45 days now thinking the car would get here in a snap since it took so little time to produce when in reality that's not the case at all. I recommend you forget about it for 40 days at least and find something else to obsess over if at all possible

 

Just found out that my Mini is on the Integrity too! I ordered on 10/1 and it looks like I should have my car in about 5 weeks. Would it be reasonable for it to reach St. Louis a week after it arrives in Baltimore? I hope so!

 

Tough to say I suppose it depends on if any accessories are to be installed at the VDC in Baltimore or if any damage occurred in shipping My MA has been pretty silent on timetables, but I was guessing about a week from Baltimore to Indianapolis.

I think this is the worst part of the wait so far. Knowing that the car is complete but not knowing when it will get here is tough! It'll all be worth it as soon as they get here!

 

Just heard from back from my MA - build date is the of week of 11/11. The wait is killing me...

 

Ok...I ordered my clubman on October 2, taking a dealer slot. My MA gave me my production number the next week along with saying production would be week 44. The owners lounge just says on order, and ask mini says scheduled for production but no production date set. So, where did my MA get the date? And why on earth would it take a month to get production started? Reading through this thread, it seems like others with a dealer slot only wait a week or two for production. Are there certain options that slow things down?

 

I think I'm good to go once I reach the VDC. I believe everything was done at the factory.

 

Ask MINI tells me that today, my MINI is in Quality Check! Yeah! So far, order date October 7, start build October 11, QC October 19 - eighth day!

 

My coupe is in Quality Check also! Now there is the expectation and wait for a ship. Hopefully they won't have long to wait to catch a ride over!

 

so if I order by next week do I get a delivery by x-mas?

Man, Ordered on the 7th and its already in quality check? My order was in five days earlier and they havent even started building him. I'll need a nerve pill to get through this wait.

 

I think it's because it is a clubman. I believe they tool up/schedule clubmans once a month, so its just a matter of when they will build the next batch, hence the delay.

 

Ah, ok. thats good to know. It doesnt help my anxiety that I sold my Honda and am driving a borrowed Toyota Yaris til the clubbie arrives. While it's surprisingly quick and drives well, it is the loudest, most stripped down car I have ever driven. And its a periwinkle.

 

I am a bit baffled by the shipping info my MA sent me. My car is some where on a boat heading for Port Hueneme in Cal, and scheduled to dock around Nov 9. I can't find any ships on that schedule. Anybody out there heading to the West Coast in this time frame. I would love to track the ship through the Panama Canal, but my MA does not know the ships name. She thinks it left Bremerhaven around Oct 15. Ideas?

 

did your MA give you a boat name? Mine is on the Asian Vision.

 

@sk8erMom ask your MA for the boat name if she doesnt know have her ask her manager. They can look it up for you. If i could do it in my system i would, but they definitely can give you a boat now. I will try and see if we have any cars on an 11/9 boat and see what the name is for you because there is a good chance it is the same boat.

But your MA should definitely be able to look that information up for you.

edit: ok so here is the boat that I have cars on that dock on the 9th of November. It should be the same boat that yours is on because it is an all countryman boat for us and it looks like you also ordered a ctm all4. Ok so the name is ALTAIR LEADER left BREMERHAVEN on 10/13 and arrived at the port here in CA on 11/09!
