Just be thankful you don't live on the West Coast - three weeks on the ship! Mine docks in 6 days, but who's counting?

The OL finally updated from an estimated date at dealer of 11/23 (I had taken a screenshot of it and scribbled "LIES, ALL LIES" over top as a way to vent my frustration) now showing 11/28. Of course, taking delivery Tuesday or Wednesday next week are the ONLY days that it would be a tremendous hassle for me. Figures!

If you only knew.....This is my second car I ordered in the last 4 months. The first one arrived after 10 weeks of waiting...and was missing my automatic garage door opener on my mirror. Seemed small enough, but no way to retro fit after production! I had to order a whole new car. So, I had my baby for 4 days and then had to return her and give her away to someone else.....how sad! And, that car sat in Austria after production was done for an entire month before it made it's way to the ship. God is trying to instill patience in my, but I am not happy one bit!

In my satisfaction survey, I complained loudly about the OL and asked that MINIUSA give me a call so that I can complain. I'd suggest you do the same - hopefully many voices will get them to straighten that side of things up!

My MA and a few others were talking about doing a retrofit on the garage door opener option (this was on a hatch, though). I know it can be done, but it costs a LOT more to do it retro...

This doesn't sound good. I've never heard of a car going backwards in the sequence. Did you mean "scheduled for production"? I don't think there is a "ready for production" in the sequence of events. I would call ASKMINI tomorrow and speak to a live person and see what's going on.

I had a similar situation, but I caught it before the car got here. MY MA forgot to put the black roof/mirrors on the order on the computer even though it was on the build sheet that I signed off on when I ordered it. I caught the omission on the "order details" on the OL, but by the time he tried to make the change to the order the car already had a VIN so he had to make a whole new order. The second car went into production about three days after the first (wrong) one was complete and at the dock. I thought for sure I was going to miss the ship and have to wait another two weeks for the next one, but they both made it on the same ship (Torrens, scheduled to dock in Port Hueneme on Friday). It's critically important to check and double check the specs on the order detail on the OL as soon as it comes up. Was yours a problem of the MA inputting it wrong or a mistake at the factory? BY the way, I had the garage door opener on the mirror on my 335i and never used it because I couldn't get it to program so that both my car and my wife's worked so I used the clip on transmitter that came with the opener. For that reason, I didn't even order it on the MINI.

Sounds like quite a mess and, with the model changeover going on, I can see where both you and the MA would be confused about what was in the package and what wasn't and how it would appear on the specs on the OL. Glad it got worked out, but it must have sucked to have to give back your MINI after 4 days. This is the first time I have ever ordered a car rather than buying it off the lot and, while I love the fact that I got everything I wanted and nothing I didn't, I'm not sure whether I would do another order or not. It's a very frustrating process and requires more patience than I have. On the other hand, there is no way I wouod have been able to get a spice orange MCS that was equipped anywhere like what I wanted because when I was looking there was a grand total of two SO MCS's in inventory in all of southern CA.

I've heard of people (using the OL site) thinking their car was waiting to be shipped when they received a call from their MA that the ship had already docked and their Mini was on a truck.

Hope so. Century delivered mine the day after it arrived @ dealership.

Some get on the same day they arrive at port, and some take weeks. Mine took 12 days to get picked up.

I feel your frustration. The end is where the bottle neck occurs in this process!

No pickup date here :-( My baby is still on the boat and will most likely remain in-transit until the end of the week...sniff. On the up side, my clothes dryer is on it's last legs, and my mom, visiting from NC for Thanksgiving, purchased a new washer and dryer as the Christmas gift to my family. It's not in stock at the moment, so if all goes well, I'll get the washer and dryer AND my Mini Cooper the week of December 12th! How cool is that? lol :-)
