New MINI Owner in WV
#6
Welcome to the club. Hope you have many, many miles of joy. If you haven't already noticed, one of the fun things about having such a cool ride in an unsaturated MINI zone is how strangers will just strike up a conversation about your car or want to peek under the hood. I was practically mobbed by curious folk at a parts store the other day. (What can I say? My baby is a total guy magnet.)

mephikristiles - Curious folk that want to chat are always welcome. I'm kinda used to that. One of my other vehicles is a'95 Harley Davidson Nostalgia and it always draws a lot of attention. I once had a Japanese tour group stop me and a buddy at a rest area so that they could get pics of "real American bikers". Ended up posing with one of the guys wives while she sat on my bike and I was surrounded by about a dozen Japanese men with cameras dangling around their necks! it was a living cliche.

I still have a copy of the pic. The guy running the group was an American and it was his wife that wanted to have her pic taken sitting on the bike with me. She didn't speak any english and was excitedly talking to her husband in Japanese while he was explaining why all of them were so excited to see "real American bikers". He looked at me like he wanted to ask something and before he could I said "she wants to sit on the bike doesn't she". He asked how I knew and I told him "everyone does". When they were getting ready to leave he asked for my contact info and I gave him one of my business cards. About a month later I received an 8"x10" copy of the pic in the mail.
