New & Excited: 2003 Cooper S

Hey Guys/Gals,
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm picking up an 03 Cooper S in black this Thursday. It's got 89K and they're selling it to me for $7800! I couldnt pass it up!

Question:
-What should I be on the lookout for (Maintenance wise) with a Mini with this many miles?

Thanks!
-Angelo

Not much. The normal issues such as leaking coolant tank should have already been replaced. The shocks and front lower control arm bushing are probably due for replacement if they have never been replaced.
Ask when the last time the supercharger belt was replaced. I change mine every 30,000 miles or so but that is probably excessive.
Of course normal items such as spark plugs, oil change, air filter, and cabin filter.

Thanks for the heads up!

Carfax said the Flywheel was replaced @ 59,909. Is this a common thing? CarFax seems pretty vague when they describe services. The owners said the clutch was done.

Many Minis had noisy clutch/flywheel assemblies that were replaced under warranty or just after the warranty expired. The Mini has a unusual dual mass flywheel and rather cheap throw out bearing that between the two caused some problems.
