West Virginia miniac

Hi everyone. I'm way overdue in thanking you all for the help and advice you've generously given over the years I've been lurking on here.

So, thank you!

An especially big howdy to any Huntington/Hurricane locals. I'm the 03 DS/W MCS around Barboursville. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I'm slow on the wave reflex (until it's too late), but it always makes me to see you guys out and about.

Indeed. Crazily-winding back roads are a blast. Tho' I'd jump at the chance to chance to zoom down the coast with the roof open.

There have been a couple of attempts to get a WV group together. Country Roads MINI's has the biggest following so far, but they're still lacking in numbers but they seem to make up for it in enthusiasm.

Until something bigger comes along, our group, Hampton Roads club MINI does a few runs out your way. Specifically our Fall Colors Run centered in Monterey, VA makes a few forays into WV during the weekend of Oct 28-30th. Check out our site at www.hrmini.com for more info. We'd love to have you join us!

I'm up in the Clarksburg WV area. I work over in Grafton so I get to drive the twisty back roads almost every day. I haven't seen very many MINIs in my area.

RuRu12--ooo, I bet that's a fun commute when the roads are clear. Pretty out your way.
I've noticed a few more fellow MINIs in my area over the last year or so, but we're still fairly scarce. Was nice to exchange a wave and smile with a kindred spirit in town today.

My new MINI (if it ever moves into production, will be almost 5 weeks from order to move to production) is going to get me from Harpers Ferry WV to the Northern VA area for work. Some of the roads around here are just MADE FOR A MINI!

Bubble and Squeak - there are some awesome roads over in your neck of the woods. I've put lots of miles on over the years in your backyard. Ever run Rt 50 west out of Winchester? There are some curves where you can almost see your own taillights!

Caught a glimpse of a dark blue/white (don't know official blue color name) hardtop while passing through Grafton yesterday. I was in an Accord, but waved anyway. Any idea who owns the MINI?

No I don't know any MINI owners in Grafton. I meet one or two occasionally on my commute. I always wave, but they rarely wave back.

My MINI is a Pepper White/Black Justa. I commute from the West Milford area to Grafton.

Keep watching the Country Roads board. We're always talking about new rides.

Thanks for the invitation, definitely something to consider! I've bookmarked the Mid-Ohio Motoring Club to follow upcoming events.

BTW, if you're interested in traveling East, as BportLax mentioned, check-out our Sept. 15th Cadbury Tour in County Road's MINIs.

Hey Country Roads MINIs, our club, Hampton Roads club MINI is having our Fall Colors Run through the mountains again Oct 5-7. We're headquartered in Monterey, VA again and our Saturday stops in Snowshoe and then on to Marlinton for lunch. Sunday we head north to Winchester, VA, but we'll be hitting up some of those great WV twisties on the way. We'd love to have y'al join us for some or all of the run! It's free, just show up and follow!

Check out our site for info.

First, thank you for the invitation and I'd be there in a flash if I did not have an obligation that weekend.

Just added a bookmark to Hampton Roads MINIs and will be watching for future drives.

BTW, I just happened to be following this thread, and you might get more responses if you repost to the Country Roads MINIs forum. I'd do it myself but I'm not sure how (forward?).

It really sounds like a fun trip and again thanks for the invitation!
