Shipping parts

I am rebuilding a 2008 MCS, and I have to ship a hood I bought from the west coast to Oklahoma. I have tried to find the parts closer to home, but have had no luck. I didn't realize that there are so many different ways to ship big items. It is overwhelming trying to get the best deal with the safest shipping. Does anyone have any experience with this? I wouldn't mind hearing about it.

Since you now own the hood...and if it gets dinged, you cannot reject the shipment (like you would do if you ordered it, and then a new one would have been shipped), i would suggest you find a professional shipping place to crate/ship/insure it...document it all.

YRC (Yellow freight) said that they insure the shipment for twenty five dollars a pound, so it should cover it if it gets damaged. All we can do is pack it good and see what happens.
