Just another new (to me) Mini owner

New Mini owner right here. Just picked up a 2002 MCS with 50k on it. One owner, dealer maintained car. Made the transition form a mk3, so needless to say its like night and day. I have got a few questions, the first is regarding the iPod connector that came with the car. How the hell does it work? It makes no sense to me at all. The iPod cable has power because it is charging the iPod but I can't seem to figure out how it plays through the head unit. Second is the grey-ish plastic on the dash and door cards, whats up with the weird marks that are left on it after cleaning? Thanks for any help you can give me

Congrats and welcome! I have an '02 MCS as well. Those marks that look like stains on the dash are on purpose. It's just the texture that they went with back then (I don't like it much either).

As for the iPod connection, I'm guessing you need to change to the CD Changer mode.
