Introducing Myself
My name is Todd Landry and I just discovered this this website. This morning when I was driving my Mini and someone waved at me and I waved back as I have been doing for the three eyars that I have owned my Mini, I wondered if there was a "club". I checked the internet, and well, here I am. I test drove my first mini in June of 2011 and bought my car that same day. I have been in love ever since. I live in a small town called Carol Stream which is a western suburb of Chicago. I have a regular Mini (non Sport) with the moon roof. It is Oxygen Blue in color so I tend to stand out on the road.
One of the things that I love about this car is how it stands up in a Chicago winter. That car handles extremely well in the snow- and we get a lot of it. I have had other cars which were not anywhere in the same league. We have four cars in my family and I will dig my way through them in order to drive him- I have named "him" Severus after one of my favorite literary characters.
That car has great pickup, but I noticed drives best in moderate temps... not too warm, not too cold. I cna't tell you how many people have made positive comments about my car... a lot of my work associates want me to drive if we go to lunch because driving in the Mini is an experience for themm- everyone comments about the big round odometer on the dash.
That's it for my intro- I look forward to meeting other Mini owners and hearing about their experiences...
