Cute

Having my 2007 mcs for just about 2 weeks now, I must say the ride is better than I expected...BUT...the next person who tells me it's cute is going to get it!!! At 6'2" and 260ish...the last thing I was going for was a "cute" ride!!!!

Babies, puppies and kittens are cute because they're small. Ergo, MINIs are cute. There's no reason for me to be sensitive about what I drive. And if a girl is driving it, it's a girl's car!

If height matters, I'm 6'3". I haven't been called cute for the last 75 years.

Enjoy your new car!

Ah - don't fight it!

The MINI is all things to all people. For me it's just a great looking, classic european car, but to others, it's pure cuteness through and through.

It's all good!

You could use one of the "It's Not Cute; It's Mean" shirts or stickers from Outmotoring.

Heck, We got our MINI 'cause it's cute!

My wife and I had just test driven a MINI and we still weren't sure that we were ready to buy one that day. We were sitting in our car looking at all the MINIs on the lot and my wife said, "They're soo cute! They're like puppies! We can't go home without one!"

We went back inside, bought one, and drove it home!

True - the MINI feels more like a living, breathing machine—not just a bunch of nuts and bolts like most cars.

MINIs are very cute, cuter than most puppies and definitely cuter than babies. I've noticed that some people do things to their cars to make them less cute and more "mean." Depending on the color of your MINI, you can get a tint, black out the chrome, lower the car and get some mean looking wheels, I think that will help you out with your situation.

But, MINI's are cute. At 5'2" and 110ish, I know what's cute.

I'll try to help out the newbie with a name for his car.
I'm 6'-3", and guess what the most common question I get is? Get used to it.
Don't like cute? Then think of the opposite. First thing that came to my mind was Dr. Evil in the movie Austin Powers. How about "Dougie"?
In Goldmember, Nigel Powers reveals that Dr. Evil is Austin Powers' twin brother and that his real name is Douglas ("Dougie") Powers. He explains that Douglas and Austin were separated as babies following a car explosion, and that he thought that only Austin had survived.
Or how about "Mini Mr. Bigglesworth"?
He was forced to escape hastily with Dr. Evil in a cryogenic capsule, but lost all of his fur due to an error in the unfreezing process.

Just a suggestion...

I have a CUTE loaner now, it's as cute a chick car as they could give me!
Look at the Ice Blue pastel color. Not even a white roof.
It's not an S.
It has the regular automatic.
Skinny tires.
I would name her Skank or something....

THIS is cute...

I hear ya! I've gotten it many times too, it's a bit sickening!
But, I would say some Mini's are cuter than others.

Give it a masculine name and show 'em your taillights in the twisties!

I'm basically the same size as you...and I love my cute car. I started with an Astro Black '09 MCS and now drive a Chili Red '11 MCS.

Another member and I have had this conversation, and her retort was: "It's not cute. It's mean."

Here's the solution if you feel so inclined: after the first person calls your car cute, immediately drive to the nearest Fiat Dealer (errr....studio as they call them) and then watch as all of the Fiat folk call your "cute" car a tank, Hummer, other large vehicle, etc. Follow that by a long drive on a windy road and all will be well with the world.

Enjoy the new car and congrats!
