Hello World..!!

Hello,

As a new member and owner of a "slightly used" MCS PWB, I thought that I would take a moment and introduce myself. I live in the Central Ohio and commute 75 miles each day to my job as a storage and backup engineer for a large financial institution. I was looking for a vehicle that would get better gas mileage than my Nissan Frontier and that would also handle the snow better than my Mazda Miata. To be honest, my wife and I were getting tired of climbing up out of the Miata after a couple of hours driving in it. The excitement was no longer there anymore, at least with the Miata....

Then one day last month while checking out the used car selection on my local dealer's lot, I spotted this Mini Cooper S with 115,000 miles on it and figured since it was a sudo BMW the miles weren't something to be afraid of. My wife and I took it out for a test spin and after about 30 minutes decided that it would be a good replacement for the Miata. A couple of hours later the Miata was history and we became the proud owners of a January 2004 build of a 2004 MCS PWB with the Getrag six-speed and almost every other option for that year. The previous owner, of which I learned there were two, was nice enough to have replaced the 'run flat' Dunlops with some new Bridgestones and even threw in a new donut spare stuffed into the hatch behind the rear seat.

The following week I took it in to my local Mini dealer to have them do an oil change and inspection of the condition of the car. Of course they didn't do JUST the oil change but rather talked me into the the Inspection 1 service. Not really knowing what that included I gave them the go ahead and after about 90 minutes had a list of items that need to be taken care of. The most shocking was that the radiator cooling fan is only running on high. And when I searched the web for more information I was led to this excellent web page and the wealth of information available here. Having been a long time member of the Miata Net forum I was eager to join this site and wanted to take a moment to say "Hi"!

Jim
