whats a good amount off MSRP - 2012 Mini Cooper?

Whats a good price on Mini Cooper Hardtop?

Mine configures for $24,470. Dealer says they will do $1000 off MSRP and throw in the mats ($147). Total would be $23,323 + tax, reg/plate. Not sure if they have any other fees. Trying to get out the door price.

thanks

Mats are included in the price for all 2012 Minis. I would not like a dealer trying to tell you that they are giving you that deal. Also, 1000 off is pretty good this early in the model year.

I would agree. $1000 off MSRP on an ordered car?

What's New for 2012

For 2012, the Mini Cooper offers the "Mini Yours" series of high-end customization options. A leather-covered dashboard, unique wheels and leather upholstery with contrasting striping and piping are among those optional highlights. A few more standard features, such as an aero kit for JCW versions and floor mats for all Coopers, round out the changes.

thanks for replies

I should have said the 3 black rubber mats (front, rear, boot). list price on those is $147. Perhaps the standard mats are ok? I live in CT, so usually have rubbers mats due to snow/wet.

yeah I would have to order the car, they said would take to about Feb 2012 to take delivery.

Around here (San Francisco Bay Area), paying MSRP is a pretty good thing. Most dealers mark them up, and then do you the "favor" of letting you pay MSRP.

Agree, good price
And it's rubber mats I'm sure. Which is nice to have in addition to the ones that come with it.

I would say anything >$1000 off MSRP I think is a good deal....but again if you like a car money is only money...and to me the experience is worth every penny so money off MSRP is worth only so much.

I got $1750 off my Hardtop S fully loaded with Tech package, premium package, cold weather package, and other accessories. How? I'm not sure this will work for others but here it goes:

I ordered in October and they had the motortober deal ($750 off if you showed up on a particular day). They also have a $500 off if you finance through BMW. But... at the time of signing and ordering my Mini I couldn't get the $500 off because I wasn't yet financing, even though the MA had previously told me I could get the deal. He said... "it might be available when the car arrives". i said, well give me the 500 off now anyway. He asked his manager and did.

When the car arrived they still had a $500 off deal with financing through BMW, so I got that anyway. That is:

$750 off for motortober
$500 by simply asking for it
$500 off financing through BMW (which I will pay off completely when the first bill arrives. No fees for doing that and even if I didn't they have a very low finance rate).

So...it seems you can get stuff if you ask.
