New 05MCS Dinan S2 Owner in NorCal

Hello Nam,

Well I finally did it. Last night I purchased a British Racing Green 05 MCS with the Dinan S2 package on it.

I love the car already!

The car had 1 owner and he must have been a great guy cause he choose some nice options and upgrades that I have thankfully taken advantage of.

The dealer had all the service records, the original window sticker, owners manual, 2nd key, Dinan receipts, Dinan brochures, etc.

Car had 43,333 miles, OZ wheels, upgraded JCW brakes, Convenience package, Cold Weather package, Sport package, LSD, Harmon Kardon and a few other things........

I looked at a few other minis and none of them where as close to been as clean as this one. I had a smile on my face the whole drive home.

So other than the test drive I have only driven it twice now and I'm in love with it already. The ride is a little harsh (wondering if I can soften it up) or maybe I'm just getting old...haha. And there doesn't seem to be a place to plug in my IPod.....I'm sure there must be an after market accessory I can buy.

I have a 35 mile 1-way drive to work and I averaged 31mpg cruising at about 70~80 the whole way. So I was happy with that.

I think I'm going to be hating the clutch in stop and go traffic (clutch is kind of strong) but such is the price of fun I guess.

The wife and kids love it and my 13 year old daughter already has dreams of it becoming her's in 3 years (she might have to keep dreaming about that).

The PPI found a few things (valve cover and oil pan gaskets seeping)which I asked about here on NAM and seem to be minor but I will keep an eye on them. I actually previously created this thread under the name Mini Noob but I didn't want to keep that name so I made a new account. I hope the mods don't mind.

So I'm loving my new MINI and I hope to join the local club and get out and meet some MINI owners

OK I haven't had a chance to take pics myself so here are some I copied from the dealers website.

BTW - I can't wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend so I can show Yoda some love with a nice detail job and then maybe a canyon run.

Congrats! Driving in traffic isnt bad. I usually leave it in 1st and let the car creep, if you have enough space in front of you it works out fine.
